[SPOILER] Inspiration for upcoming Episode III vehicle

Post by Crayz9000 »

OK, those of you who have been looking at the spoilers know that General Grevious drives a bizarre and wicked-looking monocycle.

Well, apparently it's actually a semi-practical design that exists in real life.

Apparently he even set a speed record in one (powered by a V8 nonetheless!) on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

I'm honestly not sure how that thing would fare in a crash, but it's one of the most interesting designs I've seen.

I think crashing might be too generous, I've seen video where it just fell over.

i saw a video of the guy crashing, it looked very bad. The whole thing came apart and went flying all over, he was lucky he didn't get his head taken off.

Didn't Mr. Garrison build one of these things on Southpark?

I was thinking the same thing. And the thing would jam something up your ass to lock you in.

There's something slightly similar in V Gundam as well.

There was something vaguely like that in "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust", but the character rode on a housing on top of a single wheel, not inside it.

It looked like a pretty nice design, but a bit unstable...although she did get a great turn of speed on top of it, and it was apparently stable enough to fire a rocket launcher from while in motion.
