Man Kzin wars force substitue
Right after events in Stone Dogs, A Kzin scout ship enters the Sol System, The Drakka surviving forces blow the tiny scout all to hell. Now it's the Kzin vs. the Dominion. Given the Drakka's slow learning curve, at this point neither side has FTL (Just very large Orion drives) and the primary advantage the Kzin have is their Intertial Dampeners, and Telepaths.

The Drakka go down hard in a fight vs. the Kizn.
The Drakka have two main problems if they face the Kizn that the Known Space Humans did not:
1) They never fully exploted the solar system (at least by the events in Drakkon) to the point it the Earthers and Belters had done when the 'Zin 1st showed up. The Drakkon being racial elitests at heart are inclined to maintain a small population and only the Serfs they need. Again this puts them behind the curve in compairison to the KS humans.
2) While the Drakkon are ruthless and cunning, and the Kzin are not the absolute sharpest collection of knives int he drawer, when it comes to HTH combat the Drakkon will rate at best a very shallow tie. The 'Zin simply have more built in tools to bring to the fight.
In ranged combat the Drakkon would fair no better than any other Human facing a 'Zin trooper. No distinct advantage exists in the most advanced weapons that the Drak has been shown to field and those discribed as beening use by the Kzin during any of the Man Zin wars.
3)Telepaths - no element of suprise in large engagments for the Drak.
The main problem with the Drak is that they have eliminated the one thing that saved mankind when the Kzin showed up. The Kzin where defeated essintially by a largely pacified Humanity that had forgotten that all those ships they where using to transport stuff and mine the solar system where weapons. All those fusion drives could be converted to weapons by simply aiming the ships engine at the Zin battle cruisers. Its implied that the Niven Humans took appaling losses, but they did tie up the Kzin long enough to find a tecnological edge to win the war with.
By the time the Drakhave full controll over the solar system, the most they are concered with is defending against the few free Humans on Proxima Centuri. They have a culture that is controlled and regulated. There are no un planned or surplus Drak or Serfs. Which means in a massive space and ground war they are going to operating way out on their margins. They also lack the private ships to throw into combat against the Kzin, that the Belters did in the Man Zin wars.
Once the Kzin make it into the system and establish a base with follow on fleets behind them, it will be next to impossible for the Drak to dig them out.

Also, just after Stone Dogs they have just barely won WWIII, and are still trying to pacify pockets of resistance across the world. By the estimates of their leadership, it was going to take something on the order of 40 years or more to recover and pacify. Personally, I think Lefarge should have sent the New America's auxilaries on a suicide run to eliminate life on Earth as soon as he cleared the Solar System.
If it's just after the Stone Dogs, the Draka are screwed. They only won the final war by the skin of their teeth. They can't hope to win another war so soon, particularly against an interstellar foe. The Kzin are attacking now, against a weakened Domination which can not counterattack for at least forty more years.

The Draka have better weapons than the Niven humans had, but that's about it. Their power and propulsion systems are more primitive. Worse, the Kzin still outgun them. They'll handle the initial battles better but it's downhill from there. Grav planers would afford the Kzin a huge mobility advantage, so they can defeat the Draka in detail. I wonder how the Kzin would react to fighting another predator race.
The Puppeteers would be more afraid of the Draka than they were of humans. They'll probably manipulate the situation in a different manner than they did before.

My guess would be total extermination, very likely assisted by slave uprisings etc. From what I've heard of the Draka, the masses of humans would probably welcome the change from the bastard Draka to the mostly fair Kzin (until the land confiscations began). After all, it's one thing to be a subject race, and another to be a SLAVE race.Raxmei wrote:The Draka have better weapons than the Niven humans had, but that's about it. Probably by exterminating all concerned parties. The Puppeteers would be more afraid of the Draka than they were of humans. They'll probably manipulate the situation in a different manner than they did before.
