Aaah...TWELVE SQUADRONS should bloody well be able to kill a single ship in a balls-to-the-wall launch like that. And this is coming from an antifighrer, pro-battleship guy. Now, on the flip side, watch what happens to strikefighters against a Lancer screen.

Really? 72 fighters launching, oh, 4 Torps each is enough to take down an Allegiance-SD in a single go? Not being sarcastic, just honestly curious...
In any case, for me, the thing I truely enjoy the most, is the chance to basically have a fully 3D representation of nearly every ship in the StarWars universe!
I don't know how cannon they are in terms of how they look, but as far as I'm concerned it's my new 'DataBase' for how ships look and scale sizes.

Aaah, I thought you meant actual squadrons, not in-game squadrons. Still, six squadrons mangum-launching is quite, quite bad enough.

A 64 mb GeForce4 MX440. It cost me a hundred dollars. For the same price, at the same store, I could have gotten a 128 mb GeForce4 MX. Unfortunately, my system is "low-profile." so I had to go with the 64mb.

Wel, with a GF4 MX, it's no wonder. It's little more than an overclocked GeForce2. You should've gone with a GF4 Ti4200 on that budget. The one I had cost me $200 when I got it new, so it's probably down at least to $100 by now.

I discovered that the Torpedo Sphere is the most deadly weapon in existence today.
Was having a nice rolling MC-ISD brawl, and noticed that a few Mon Cals were puttering off somewhere. Determined to put a stop to it, I deployed the sphere.
The salvo fired. Time itself seemed to slow... the halo finally decended on the MC80b... there was the souns of multiple exposions slowing, slowing, until it reached the sound of popcorn. Then, the Universe ended.
Imperial Superweapons: Overkilling in places no other Superweapons can reach.

If a player's watching, however, Torpo spheres can be frustrating to use. Vomit torps....and watch as your target vanshes into hyperspace. Meanwhile, his brethren are counterfiring viciously.

Personally speaking, from experiences in the game, the most cost effective super weapon, is the World Devastator! Ok so it’s slow, but the cost of hyper-spacing is so low, and so quick, you can virtually use it to ‘teleport’ around the map. For only about 157,000 creds in game, it packs a heck of a lot of raw firepower as well as tons of long-range heavy rockets.
Speaking of heavy Rockets, has anyone else tried the Cruiser Class Heavy Rocket SD? That ship is simply insane, park it far from battle and just wail on enemy capital ships. I never did like Torp-Sphears personally, Sure, you can destroy almost anything in one Salvo, but, it seems a little wasteful, and considering a World-Dev is the same price, I would much rather go with one of those.
Also, for those who have played the game, I am curious how many play with ‘All Research’ vs no research. As in, how many play where you have to research everything. I have found games last much longer, and are far more of a challenge when you have to research the vast amount of techs needed for an ISD, vs making one in the first 5min of a game.

I prefer research. Makes pumping out a single early-game Lancer and surprising the fuck outta some fighterwhore even sweeter.

Indeed Although, in-terms of cost, speed, and research, for me, in a Research game, the Victory-SD is the perfect worship. At just over 16,000 you can build almost four for the cost of a single ISD-II, plus, you don’t have to spend the almost extra 50,000 creds for the added research.
But thats something that you can't get out till late in the game. I enjoy racing ahead in the Frigates and building a couple of Carracks early on.
Of course, it also just feels so much more satisfying to do things the ;long way' knowing that you've really earned each of those ships. and it adds more to tactics and stratedgy
Also, you learn to take much better care of your ships since you have invested a far greater amount of money into each one.

The Victory II is a heavy frigate with more mass, it has pitiful firepower. I know, for a fact, that if you rushed to a victory without getting frigate escorts first, it is very easy to snipe all of it's turrets down.Crossroads Inc. wrote:Indeed Although, in-terms of cost, speed, and research, for me, in a Research game, the Victory-SD is the perfect worship. Also, a reason I perfer the Imp I's, their torpedoes strike in such a way that after 2 salvos half the target's turrets are gone. Superior firepower is nice, but if the enemy can't fire back, it really doesn't matter

Destroyer Turrets? How can you?
Oh yea…
I should probably mention that, due to me using a MAC, I am forced to play the old, original version of the Warlords Mod, and not the more advance copy… As such a few of my tactics and gameplay may obviously be out of touch with things, since in the original you couldn’t target individual weapons, and the Victories were better units.
*Patiently awaits the updated Patch for Macs*
