The multiplying stormtroopers
For anyone who feels like doing mathematics:
Imagine an omnipotent being. Apart from omnipotent, he's also an very bored asshole and decides to play with that manned "small moon"
Imagine a stormtrooper on a DSII
*poof*
Suddenly there are 2 stormies. They are like "wtf?" but exactly one minute later
*poof*
4 stormies.
The next minute, each stormie again multiplied so they are now with 8. This continues, so theoretically, if nobody shot them yet, after only 15 minutes they are with 16384 clones. 15 minutes later with 536870912 stormies.
The other crew can kill the stormie clones. Killing a clone stops it from multiplying (in fact, the corpse will just disappear).
Multiplied clones will just wander around and won't resist getting shot at all. Somehow, the crew can see the difference between normal stormtroopers and clones (lets just say the clones armor turns red so no accidental friendly fire)
The omnipotent being closed all exits from the DSII but made sure no inside door could be closed.
- What will be the point of no return? That is: when the crew can't keep up with the killing.
- Say the DSII is 50% hollow, how fast untill the DSII is completely bloated with stormies?

Wow Just like tribbles...
"The trouble with these Storm Troopers is that they seem to be born pregnant. Which seems to be quite a time-saver."
In all seriousness, I wouldn't know, I don't imagine it taking very long at all for the real storm troopers to mow down the clones with a hail of E-Web fire.

Well, since the stormtroopers numbers will increase with 2^t * ln(2) for every t and the number of stormtroopers that will be killed is fairly constant, it depends on when they get the E-Web up. For example: If they can kill 10 000 of them per minute, they are not fucked until such time that 2^t * ln(2) exceeds 10 000, which is when t = ~13.8. In other words, they are fucked when the stormtroopers multiply faster than they can be killed off. Or if you like mathematical symbols:
f'(t) = g'(t)
Where f(t) is the function for the number of stormtroopers, and g(t) is the function for the number of stormtroopers killed.
The second question is just a matter of setting the equation for the number of stormtroopers, that is 2^t, multiplying with the volume of one stormtrooper and setting it to equal the 50 % of the volume of the DSII and then solving it. Simple

Re: The multiplying stormtroopers
Why waste ammo, they appear from one section of the DS II (they started from one Stormtrooper), so shut the blast doors to that section, shutdown the Air system and wait for the crush of more spawning bodies and asphyxiation to kill them off.
Oh and it would be 2 minutes after it is 25% bloated, 1 minute to reach 50% and another to hit 100%.

The omnipotent being closed all exits from the DSII but made sure no inside door could be closed.

Then you weld Durasteel plate across the Corridors, same effect, just have to start further out so it will take a bit longer..

No exits from the DS II, so you have them walk into the reactor and garbage compactors instead.Chris OFarrell wrote:Then you keep telling all Stormtrooper clones to head for the hanger bays, then drop the atmospheric containment fields.
Oh, and down lift shafts, off exposed walkways...

Let me see. The regular troops still act the same, right? They will probably be scratching their heads at the fist doubling but after 2 or 3 will call in to report or assume the 'clones' are intruders and shoot them. In any case, it will only be a coule minutes before the officers realize something is wierd and THEY will know that the 'clones' aren't supposed to be there. Fire at will. The 'clones' won't reach huge numbers.
In any case, eventually the 'clones' will start falling down those bottomless pits that we all know are the basis for all SW architecture.

Is Palpatine on board? If so, I figure he just cranks up the ol' force powers and causes a fatal brain anneurism in every single clone's brain, or simply fries the whole of the station with a shitload of force lightning, unlocks the front door, and reports he's the only survivor of a "violent electrical storm caused by a faulty system".
...what? The man can create force storms capable of ripping apart massive starships and possibly entire fleets - might it not be possible for him to frag an entire station?

Yes, he is capable of frying the entire station, but is incapable of opening a door.

the "order them to shoot themselves" was the best idea. assuming each stormie comes out exactly the same, a broadcast over the PA system should solve things fairly quickly.
if that's not possible... hmm...
equip all regular stormies with fast firing weapons. order cloned stormies to give the regular ones their ammo. Proceed with the slaughter.
or you could order all cloned stormies to take off their helmets, then flood the entire ship with nerve gas. Sure you kill off all the techs, but that's acceptable right?
(or you give the techs breather masks or something)

Or better yet, just tell the Stormtroopers to kill all copies on sight and make up some silly explanation on how it is an invasion.Hawkwings wrote:the "order them to shoot themselves" was the best idea. assuming each stormie comes out exactly the same, a broadcast over the PA system should solve things fairly quickly.

It requires excess physical effort? Just push a button and give the clones the order to walk into the shaft.Darth Servo wrote:Whats wrong with my "just push them down those bottomless shafts" idea?
