Alien Apocalypse

Post by Fuzzy »

So I just finished watching Alien Apocalypse on Sci Fi. It had Bruce Campbell in it (good). Did anyone else watch it?

I'm looking for the best quote. So far, my favorite is this line of dialogue.

Ivan:Hey scumbag, you forgot something.

Bounty Hunter:What?

*Ivan shoots the bounty hunter*

Bounty Hunter:You said youre a doctor, you're supposed to heal people!

Ivan:I am. Your stupidity is terminal, and now you're cured.

Although I may have made a mistake in transcribing that. So yeah, anyone else?

Boring. Waste of a perfectly good actor. It had a couple moments, but most Bruce Campbell movies have a whole lot more of those moments. Without that style it was just another dumb scifi channel movie.

*shrug* It was supposed to be a dumb sci fi movie. That's why it was so funny.

No, it wasn't entertaining. It was just dumb.

I had more fun laughing about all the fake beards and wigs than the dialouge.

Although the slow-motion shot of Bruce Campbell coming in his pants while slaughtering aliens was too bizzare to dislike.

I watched the first 6 or 7 minutes before getting bored and turning the channel.

It was at the end during the voice-over. It's not actually that, of course, but it sure as hell looks like it.

By the way, voice over endings are best when you add "Character X died in an ambush at Mi Trangh" or some other Vietnam-ish comment.

I caught it too. Bruce Campbell was wasted in it, it was a pretty boring movie all in all.

Yeah, it diffinately had a bit of an identity crisis, the parts where it was obviously B movie camp wer great. But then ther were points that seemed like they were trying to take it seriously and it just suuuuucked.

I didnt catch it, but saw the commercials all last week. Theres a brief glimpse of a ruined cityscape in one of them and I could swear it looked like my home town of Portland, OR.

Does it take place in the pacific northwest? :D

Yes, and I do believe that was indeed Portland.

When they came to the shot of the burnt American flag, I started making a bunch of Postman/Keven Costner jokes.

*groan* So...so...bad...

Aliens that bite peoples' heads off...when their neck is, what, three inches in diameter? Where does the head GO?

Nasty bug-aliens with big guns...and the heroes with bows and arrows...and for some reason, despite the fact that they actually kill a few aliens who were carrying the guns, they don't freakin' TAKE any of them?! I mean, that big tank-thing would have been taken down in about ten seconds with those!

For that matter, I still have no idea why the aliens didn't just, y'know, form a firing line and just start taking potshots at the humans. They were just standing around getting shot with arrows for most of the last 15 minutes of the movie.
