No, it's not true. There are TONS of games in development.UCBooties wrote:I'll get one at the end of the summer when i have disposable income again. On the DS, I adore it, but heard a disturbing rumor in a local GameStop yesterday. Is it true that Nintendo is already considering dropping the system? That would be terrible, I realy think it's a worthwhile system. Apparently the developers just aren't biting. Anyone know what's up with that?

I wouldn't be surprised if we get another GameBoy when the DS drops to $100 though.
Right now Nintendo is managing two systems- GBA SP (low end) and DS (high end). When the new GB comes, the DS will be low end and new GB high end. Nintendo wasn't lying when they called the DS the "third pillar".
I'd fully expect Nintendo to have the GB and DS lines running side by side, with DS games using touch screen (say, FPS games) and other new innovative features while the GB line stays classic (better graphics and one screen, like the PSP).
And I really would not be surprised if Nintendo releases a new portable that plays GameCube games. They hinted they may do this way back in 2000, when they mentioned that the minidisks means it could be used in a portable someday.
