Does this come from b5tech ?

Anyway if those weapons are uberpowered I think there is no problem. Shadow Crabs have mainly one Death Ray, FWIK.

Depends on a lot of things, how powerful are those weapons and whats their relative power to others ships? A few very powerful weapons wouldn't make it underpowered.

It is close to Minbari Tech, but got there buts kicked by the Earth Alliance :D :D :D and we were armed with only Plasma weapons I say it underarmed severly now if it had a few more pulse cannons, or a rear firing X-Ray Particle Laser it could be normal!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a little odd given that Earth level tech is barely competeing with Minbari tech levels.

Well eh...it looks underpowered but then again if you say an imperial cruiser with two TL of each size...it may look unpowered but still would be enough to kick a good deal of butt.

Hello were talking the younger races here, and the Dilgar were one of them were talking in comparsion to your average scif-fi ship at the 1 kilo range such as the Omega Destroyer

There doesn't seem to be an overwhelming firepower advantage between the Minbari and humans. The big boost the boneheads had was in other areas, better stealth, better jumps engine, better drives... etc. Remember that EA ships can and did do major damage to the Minbari when they could hit them. The Dilgar didn't have a lot of those advantages and hence got their asses kicked.

Oh yeah!!! Got the video from B5tech of plasma weapons on the Sharlin WC did some damage, the Dilgar beat the Narn and the LOfNAW wait that inferor tech (Maybe not the Narns!) hmmm...........but still the Minbari now those are avarage amount of weapons that should be on a 1+ kilo warship

And I'm sticking to my belife of the Dilgar HC is severlyed unarmed ship for it's size

By B5 standards it's a fairly heavily armed ship. Not too impressive but a fairly nast ship. And remember the cruisers in B5 tend to be secondary ships compared to the destroyers and dreadnaughts.

By sci-fi standards the whole B5 universe is under armed.

Underarmed by many standards, but the power of the weapons would be the real question.

They got beaten by Hyperion cruisers, therefore, they are underarmed.

Have a very nice day.

The Hyperions are a pretty rough customer. The big problem with them isn't weapons power but their range and power generation. They're to small to support long term patrols (like the Omega's can) and to small to support a lot of the fancier EW gear or later ships. And she's also light on fighters.

Which is exactly why they were slaughtered in the Earth-Minbari war. If the Dilgar were using weapons tech similar to the Minbari, yet were beaten by Hyperions, it means that they were underarmed.

Have a very nice day.

Yes, but not for the era in B5. All B5 ships are underarmed (in terms of firepower) by the standards of SW, but most B5 ships (including this one) have most of their firepower in a few weapons that are designed to fire in fairly specific arcs. The Dilgar cruiser is not underarmed for its size, and in the B5 universe.

For comparison:

Ticonderoga AEGIS AAW cruiser

Mass ~10,000 tons

Size 172.8 x 16.7 x 9.7 meters

Weapons loadout
2 61-cell Mk41 VLS (122 cells, potentially capable of carrying 488 ESSM AAW missiles or 122 nuclear cruise missiles)
8 Harpoon
2 5"/54cal AAW/ASuW gun
2 Phalanx CIWS
2 triple 12.75 inch torpedo tubes
2 25mm Bushmaster chaingun
2-4 12.7mm machineguns

A deisgner who can only stuff eight weapons systems into a 1.2km long hull is--shall we say--somewhat lacking in professional skills.

But are the weapons in any way the same size? A CIWS is nowhere near the size as a battleship turret yet both are weapons systems. I think it's a matter of scale and for it's size relative I think a Dilgar cruiser isn't under armed.
