I don't know if this is old news, so I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before. According to the Wizards Card Game, the three-legged walkers seen at Kashyyyk (at least it looks like those) are called AT-AP. I have no clue what what the P stands for.

Haven´t really followed the whole "Which came first" debate. What does the DK books say about the ARC-170 and the Z-95?

Does not give dates, but has them both be in existence by the time of the clone wars.

Keeps the options open for the Z-95 coming in afterwards, I see. Good. One less contradiction to worry about. :D

The Z-95 is a pre TPM craft

Yes, I said that above, they were already very common and popular before the Battle of Naboo, as “The Starfighter Trap” short story pretty much made clear.

Yes, and when I said "coming in afterwards", I meant "after the ARC-170", not after the CW. :)

Yeah sorry, but any way I think ARC-170 is CW design.

Looking at the V-wings (which is actually the first good pic of them I have seen), they are rather ugly. :? I thought they looked cool in the trailer, but I guess it was only bcause we couldn't see the front.

but any way I think ARC-170 is CW design.
Official sources seem to contradict that.

I think there´s a case there for the ARC-170 being a fighter originating from before TPM, with the Z-95 following it and the two serving in the Republic military as upgraded versions.

One thing I want to mention, while the ARC-170 is long before the X-Wing and most other fightyers baring the Z-95, it;s still a powerful ship!

With a crew of three, heavy weapons, rear gun, launchers, hyperdrive shields; it looks as if it could take on most modern Alliance fighters!

I hope Fiction writters in the future will pick up on this and perhaps uses these powerful ((if slightly Ugly)) ships.

I hate coming near this thread because I don't want to be too spoiled, but something drew me in recently and I noticed the bitching about the Tantive IV used in ROTS. For those of you with Hyperspace access, there's an image of the untextured digital Tantive model used in ROTS in the "Art of Revenge" section, and it has the correct proportions. So I'm not sure what's up with the VD's image, but assuming the Tantive model used in the film is the digital one, its proportions are quite correct.

I've seen a leaked cap of the CG model, and agree that it has the correct proportions. I can't help but wonder if it was little more than a placeholder, and the ship shown in the VD is the final product. Hopefully that's not the case, and the VD version is a rough draft of the final design.

Hopefully more information will come out, otherwise we'll have to wait until the movie shows how she really looks.

EDIT: The picture is two years old, so that may have an impact on the issue.

The quick glimpse of the Tantive model from the trailer appeared to be correctly proportioned, for what that's worth.

Pretty cool picture of an open-topped walker filled with clonetroopers over at MF. I haven't seen it before.

It seems a bit deceiving, however. Look at the shape of the strakes running forward of the aft docking ports. They match the VD model, instead of the ANH version. Hopefully the length proportion discrepancy is due to perspective.

Well, the hull section between the docking rings and the engines was there in the shot from the trailer, it was missing in the Art of Revenge picture which otherwise had the correct proportions (non-Hyperspace AOR: +http://www.starwars.com/episode-iii/bts ... 50328.html) and I guess the VD. I don't think that ILM screwed this up. An other thing. The windows that was cut on the original blockade runner model for the filming of ROTJ, is clearly visible on the Tantive IV from the trailer (on both the dorsal and the ventral hull), further indicating scale.

In a similar way, Palpatine's disquise vanishes when his Force lightning is deflected back torwards him, and he remains in his normal appearence, for one to use as additional "ammunition" to the Senate against the Jedi.
That does not explain why he's both more physically strong and vital even when scarred in ROTS than he is in ROTJ. Not to mention the damage seemed a lot more superficial in ROTS - his build still looked heavier, stronger, and he was still agile and capable of engaging in saber combat. By ROTJ he seems to be much frailer and weaker.

I already completely conceeded that point (from FIVE pages and EIGHT days ago) after finding out exactly what happens in that scene, IP.

To add to my earlier post regarding the Tantive IV in ROTS. I've seen a close-up of the Tantive IV from the ROTS storybook. In the port docking ring, there is a clearly visible feature that looks like an airlock, indicating the scale of the ship (perhaps the very same airlock the Stormtroopers entered in ANH). However, the body of the ship (the engine section isn't visible) looks somewhat squeezed.
