12 reasons why gay people should not be allowed to get married
(I found this HERE, just so y'all know, I didn't make this up myelf....I'm not that smart)
1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.
2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.
3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if Gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.
5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.
6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.
7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer life spans.
12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

That is a great, great list ^_^ I'm not sure if I agree with point 8, but the rest of it is pure gold...Ted C wrote:Found this in someone's blog:

Molyneux, are you being sarcastic or serious about this list, because if you're not being sarcastic, YOU'RE A FUCKING MORON. And if you're being sarcastic don't disagree with one point as if YOU FUCKING AGREE WITH THE REST. And making it clear you're being sarcastic. That is a great, great list ^_^ I'm not sure if I agree with point 8, but the rest of it is pure gold...
I'll debate every stupid concept on that list with you when you're ready.

you do realize that that list is a joke, right?Tommy J wrote: Molyneux, are you being sarcastic or serious about this list, because if you're not being sarcastic, YOU'RE A FUCKING MORON. "It's you Americans. There's something about nipples you hate. If this were Germany, we'd be romping around naked on the stage here."
Of course, especially when they talk about women being property it's a dead give away. But the guy, if he's being sarcastic needs to make himself more clear. My assumption was that he is because not even the Fundi's believe most of that. In any case, he needs to be clear about being sarcastic and when he is. I went back and read the entire thread and realized that isn't how he feels, but shit, if one comes in at page 5 and doesn't read backwards all the way, you'd think he was an idiot.Darth_Zod wrote:you do realize that that list is a joke, right?Tommy J wrote: Molyneux, are you being sarcastic or serious about this list, because if you're not being sarcastic, YOU'RE A FUCKING MORON. if someone jumps in on a thread making an inane comment about something that's already been pointed out two or three pages earlier, they'll simply get a chewing out for being a dimwit and not reading the entire thing.Tommy J wrote:

Fair enough. And agreed I should have done so.Darth_Zod wrote:if someone jumps in on a thread making an inane comment about something that's already been pointed out two or three pages earlier, they'll simply get a chewing out for being a dimwit and not reading the entire thing.Tommy J wrote:

Since having a child, I have solidified what I think on this subject. Homosexual marriage should be allowed, and so should adoption by these couples.
*joke coming, not being serious*
I think lesbian couples would really be a lot better at child raising...more boobs! which means that one set of boobs could sleep while the other one does night feedings!!
But, seriously, as long as the child is loved, as long as theiy are held and parented (not sitting in a baby carrier all day) then they will grow up all right.

I did realize that the list was a joke...and I meant that I'm not sure if point 8 should be on the list (as something blatantly untrue). If someone is naturally bisexual but has repressed that side of themselves (or simply not acted on it), then hanging around other people of non-straight orientations would be likely to make them feel more comfortable with exploring themselves. (Not that that's a bad thing...I'm bisexual, and anything that gets people to know themselves better is a good thing in my opinion)
Sorry again about the unclearness...
