You all do realize that technically the Korean War is still on. No treaty officially ending the war was signed, only a cease-fire.
“There are two kinds of people in the world: the kind who think it’s perfectly reasonable to strip-search a 13-year-old girl suspected of bringing ibuprofen to school, and the kind who think those people should be kept as far away from children as possible … Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between drug warriors and child molesters.” - Jacob Sullum

Because superweapons are lightspeed, and at missile ranges, all visual data will be seconds out of date.Cabwi Desco wrote:Ah well fine. I concede my point of discussion.
Whats to stop someone from aiming a superweapon visually? Aim big weapon at planet or biggest ship, mathematically calculate firing angle (simple geometry and trig) and Fire. no more planet/ship. But yeah I'm not defending it just looking at this in another way.

Thirdfain. Do you realize that the SKS has done absolutely nothing in my war with either the Klingons or Gorn? All they've done was acknowledge the UTRs request for assitance, and even that would not be public knowledge since it was an encrypted signal sent from Royal Navy HQ to Terran Navy HQ. Those ships ahven't shown up yet, and won't now, so as far as the galaxy at large is concerned the SKS just stood back and took a hands off aproach, just like the Corp Sec did.
In the eyes of the public there should be no difference between the SKS or Corp Sec. But it doesn't matter really, Deneb works for me.

My point is that the SKS has done nothing. Phong has not been around so the SKS has been a neutral in everything. If other players have a problem with the SKS it is not based on in game actions, since the SKS has made no in game actions.frigidmagi wrote:Speaking has a member of the "public" there damn well is a difference between the SKS and the Corp Sphere.
Thridfain is not coming up with this stuff in a vaccum Kyle.

Or based off the fact there's no secret to who the Entente members are and how they tend to support each other.

Right, but that doesn't change Phongn's declared attitude towards the new powers. Meanwhile, the Corporate Sector has a record of impartiality, and is broadly seen as being the most friendly and open of the Entente members.Kyle wrote: My point is that the SKS has done nothing. Certainly, but that doesn't change the fact that the Corporate Sector still appears to be the most liberal faction, and the one most neutral to this whole affair.Or based off the fact there's no secret to who the Entente members are and how they tend to support each other.

Lies. You will hold your conference at the Five Fangs, and gigantic Kzin warriors in full battle armor will loom threateningly over your attendees. Then you will know true impartiality.Thirdfain wrote:Right, but that doesn't change Phongn's declared attitude towards the new powers. Thats fine. I just didn't want his nation to be painted witht he same brush as the UTR and Kzin when he wasn't involved. Like I said I have no problem with Deneb. I jsut didn't want my actions to have negatively affected Phong since he wasn't here. Just trying to be a good ally.Thirdfain wrote:Right, but that doesn't change Phongn's declared attitude towards the new powers. Whole thing is an april fool's joke. I don't even have a superlaser. Besides, mustering a fleet like this would be pretty much impossible without you being alerted beforehands.Kyle wrote:OK. I'm confused. Was this entire war supposed to be an aprils fools joke? Or are you just having fun with your superlaser?
Thats what I thought. Nicely done. I'll admit I fell for it totally.Thirdfain wrote:Whole thing is an april fool's joke. I don't even have a superlaser.
