Nitpick, but wasn't that bit of music originally from Mars, Bringer of War, not A New Hope?

Edit: Just trying to distinguish between stealing from Star Wars and sharing a common source of influence... sorry if this is too nitpicky.

I agree. I'm a bit appalled at the acting. Natalie Portman's firt ever line in an Episode III trailer was dissapointing, and Hayden's performance is beginning to pay homage to AOTC. They just had to choose the worst Yoda shots, by the way. The spoiler and trailer shots seemed more realistic than this.

I like the new score which was heard in "Tragedy". It's much like a choiral Terminator score, but it still seems appropriate for the theme of the film. I'm rather fond of the smoothness of the coopoeration between choir and orchestra, though.

Is anyone else noticing that fades between shots are done with horizontal lines?

I'm hoping that the film is not equally disappointing
I'm gonna tell you guys they same thing I told the folks over at MF.C;

Bad dialogue and acting is not unique to the PT. Go watch the OT sometime, there's nothing to rave about there. The dialogue and line delivery is often just as forced. Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher weren't great actors. Each trilogy has its share of actors who can deliver GL's halted, unnatural dialogue (namely; Ewan McGregor, Ian MacDiarmid, Alec Guinness and Harrison Ford), and even they claim it's not very well written (for speaking at least), as Ford has done.

So If you're gonna harp on about the poor acting of Hayden and Portman (who I think will be vastly better in RotS than they were in AotC) has gotta harp on the OT as well.

"Bad" acting and dialogue are not unique to the Prequals.

Yeah like Carrie Fisher said "you can type it, but can't say it" when talking about the OT dialogue.

I got my copy of the ICS today. Since then, poring over the detail of the various ships (especially the Venator class (I think I'm developing an obsession over this ship)), I've encountered some interesting features of the aforementioned RSD. I've counted at least 15 twin gun turrets in the brim trench, excluding the MTLs. I've yet to make out any ports that resemble the gunports seen in the trailer, but I get the feeling that they're located in or near the notch.

Some other observations:

-40,000 tons of fuel are annihilated per second by the main reactor, when operating at maximum power.
-There are cylindrical protrusions at the bow end of the brim trench labeled tractor beam projectors. There are some similar tubes adjacent to these. Could these be the four PT tubes?
-The supply loading bays inboard of the brim notches are fairly shallow, with reactant silos and other powerplant-related hardware in between.
-There are no callouts for the awning-shaped structures along the edges of the brim trench. Could these be shield-related?

Overall, it's pretty awesome despite the small number of subjects (would've been a little redundant, but I thought they should've included an entry on the early Tantive IV). And the detail that wasn't easily visible in the photos Clone Sergeant provided appear crisp when viewed in person (doesn't detract from my gratitude for CS' assistance, however).

Plus, the hangar setup on the RSD, though flawed, looks pretty cool, how it extends from the prow to encompass the ventral docking bay. I'm going to scratchbuild this on my model whenever I get it.

Point taken, Nex. I must admit that my expectations were a bit high, considering how well executed the theatrical trailer was.

I never said anything about the acting, I'm saying that the ads simply suck. In "The Dark Side Unleashed", the music for it is horrible. For the first half of the trailer they simply repeat the first segment of the Imperial March over and over and over, and that gets annoying really fast. Then it abruptly shifts to something else, and then finally shifts back to the Imperial March, and then cuts off suddenly. What the hell were they thinking? Then there's just some visuals that I wouldn't have included, like Palpatine lighting up his saber, it's not really an action shot. I would have replaced that with a scene of him actually in combat. And what the hell is the thing that Anakin and Obi-wan are fighting on as it flies across the lava? It looks retarded.

For "Tragedy", as a whole, it's better, but I'd take out the Padme line because she really doesn't deliver it very believably, and it ruins the moment. Then there's Anakins "Nooo!" at the end, it's just really fake. I'd replace that with a scene of him killing one of the other Jedi, at least that's more of an actual tragedy.

Allright, I can agree with that. The editing on the spots was terrible.

The lines would also have sounded much better had the edited been up to par. Anakin's "NO!" will be appropriate when seen in the film (it's when he sees Mace about to kill Palpy).

The shot of the duel was after the platform they're on breaks off the main structure, and skids along the lava flow on its repulsorlifts, I continue to hopw that GL will not make this duel too over the top. . .

But, yeah, the editing on the commercials was bad.

The music editing annoyed me the most.

And please don't tell me the "lava surfing" scene is going to suck....

It will probably look better in context, rather than just a 1 second clip. It may even undero changes by the time of the release.

Well, "Unleashed" had that great shot of Sidious igniting his light-sabre. Ian looks the same as he did in ROTJ, great make-up. In some shots he has looked kind of fat, but here it's excellent.

If you want better acting, go find the Trivial Pursuit clips on MF.com.

Though I gotta admit, hearing Vader (pre-suit) and Palpatine talking after the Separatist massacre cracked me up. They sound like they´re on "downers" or something.

Sir Alec Guinness also complained of the same thing. From The Beeb
The BBC wrote:'Mumbo jumbo'

Try as they might, however, some actors will forever be linked to one career-defining role.

None more than Sir Alec Guinness, whose legendary triumphs on stage and screen were completely overshadowed by his involvement in Star Wars.

"I shrivel up every time someone mentions it," he once said.

Indeed, on one occasion he brought a small boy to tears by requesting he never see Star Wars again.

In an interview published a year before his death, the actor revealed how he had persuaded director George Lucas to kill off Obi-Wan Kenobi by saying his character would be more effective as a ghost.

"What I didn't tell him was I just couldn't go on speaking those bloody awful, banal lines. I'd had enough of the mumbo jumbo."

There are advantages to being typecast, however, as horror veteran Christopher Lee discovered after playing Dracula for the first time in 1958.

"I do not regret anything," he said.

Playing the Count gave him "a name, a fan club and a second-hand car, for all of which I was grateful".
Gotta love Chris Lee's quote at the end though.

From the movie, hopefully all of them. The trivial pursuit game comes with a DVD showing clips from all six films, as part of Q & A.
There´s a couple of dozens scenes from ROTS there, and they kick ass.

My favorite was Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine stuck infront of a forcefield, and Anakin tells them to be patient, cus R2 will be along any second to deactivate it. Then R2 comes screeching through a door, slams into a wall, and is confronted by SBDs (sporting the most hilarious squeaky voices, btw.) "Don´t move, Stubby!" *Gets zapped by R2* "OUCH!" *Kicks him to the ground*

Second best was Palpatine declaring the Empire in the Senate, followed by Padme´s comment to Bail: "This is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause."

Chris Lee is pure class. Alec Guinness could've taken it better, though. Obi-Wan still said "mumbo jumbo" lines in TESB and ROTJ, so I don't know why he thought dying would alleviate it.

Though Obi-Wan living through ANH would've been interesting, I much prefer Vader cleaving him in two. Obi-Wan simply getting defeated rather than giving up would've been better, but for those who've read the novelization there was little doubt as to the outcome of the duel- though Darth Vader had been gravely injured, he had 19 years of Sith teachings, 19 years of physical conditioning that turned him from an ordinary lean young man into a hulking muscular brute, was only 41 years old compared to Obi-Wan's 57- and last but not least, he was still the Chosen One.

That is one way to look at it ..though we have seen on many occations that age and physical condition dosen't really matter to a jedi only their knowledge and understanding of the force.

Personally i much prefer that obi-wan was riddled with guilt about what happend to anakin and the galaxy,he must have been second guessing himself..could i have done something different? should i have actet in a different manner towards anakin when i had the chance?.

My fealing is that obi-wan was just a tired old man going looking for a good way to die..maybe earning some atonement , mayhaps stirring some long forgotten emotions in his former padawan.

(I have no foundation for these guesses i'm quite aware of that spanky)

Hmmm, more than a few scenes in the novelization have been cut from the film. Must be pacing issues.

Guiness pulled off those lines really, really well, though.

Reading through the screenplay, found a gold nugget on page 45:
Anakin: Don´t lecture me, Obi-Wan. I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the Dark Side as you do. I have brought peace, justice, freedom and security to my new Empire.

Obi-Wan: Your new Empire?

Anakin: Don´t make me kill you.

Obi-Wan: Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic... to democracy.

Anakin: If you´re not with me, you´re my enemy.

Obi-Wan: Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes. I will do what I must. (Ignites his lightsabre)
