Imperial Smack Down: Domination of Draka
For those unfamiliar with the Domination of Draka...
The Draka started as a colony of Canadian and American-Loyalist expatriates from a universe where the Americans copied the Ferguson Rifle and used it to defeat the British forces a-historically early and overrun Canada. The moved to Cape Town, which had also been conquered by the British a-historically early because of an early Dutch entrance into the US war of independence, and renamed it Drakia, after Sir Francis Drake. So, the Crown Colony of Drakia conquers all of Africa with Ferguson Rifles, eventually becoming the Dominion of Drakia. Their slaves are cunningly freed into quote "Bond-serfs" unquote. After a volcanic eruption forces the evacuation of iceland, they get a population increase - And it was further increased by French royalists and Haitian slaveowners. So they, along with various malcontents from Europe, form along with the American and Canadian expatriates and of course the Boers, the White population of Drakia. The blacks and Arabs they eventually rule... Their lot really sucks. After the First World War they overrun the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria and break away from the British Empire, declaring independence. A common short form of "Drakia" - Draka - Is adopted. They become "The Domination of Draka". They advance into Persia and Afganistan and parts of southern Russia and China next. Then, during WWII, they overrun all of Europe except for Britain, and the entirety of Russia and China. Slaves who resist -- excuse me, serfs -- are impaled. Cities that revolt are nuked after this point. The USA annexed all of Mexico back in the 1830s; so it is powerful enough with its alliance of allied states to hold off the Draka for a while. In the 1980s they overrun India, however, and around 2000 the end comes... For nearly everyone, because the war goes nuclear immediately. But by then, both sides had spread to the other planets in the solar system. The Draka, however, win and conquer. But the Americans send an expedition to a different system that eventually founds the United States of Samothracia. Before this had happened, assorted advanced fusion technology, efficient ramjets, etc, had all been developed, and a megaproject to dam the Mediterranean sea had been embarked upon.
Several thousand years later, the Draka are a genetically engineered uberrace which can move at speeds humans can barely perceive and rip them apart with their bare hands, secrete pheremones to control them and twist their minds to submission, and have sufficient technology -- including primitive culture-style effectors -- to totally shut down the computers of at least a 21st century-level Earth or gain control of them at command. They possess advanced plasma and missile weaponry (for example, an antique handgun of theirs can vapourize a 21st century APC), body-armour which protects the user from city-level thermonuclear weaponry, gravitic and ion propulsion for their starships (though thankfully sub-light, the Draka, being unaging, has less concern for this then one might imagine), their serfs are genetically engineered to be submissive to them. Little is known on their ship-borne weaponry except that they can conduct BDZ-like operatioins with a smaller ship. They're working on Molehole drive - Interdimensional, inter-time (between said dimensions), trans-space drive, nearly instantaneous. They have that technology for people, which they use to conquer alternate Earths. Usually one or two Draka are sent through, and employ their super-human powers to control a number of key personnel and thence to conquer the planet. Being essentially unaging, they are extremely patient. They can also scan time/dimensions to a certain degree. They have solar-system level defensive emplacements and systems.
Your mission, to design a non god-like force with which to eliminate every last one of the Draka.
Main obstacles: that means you would have to go to every single one of their conquered dimensions, so you will have to land troops to secure the location of known Draka colony dimensions... unless you can find a better way. Remember, if only one Draka female survives, you lose, for she can repopulate the specie.

Re: Imperial Smack Down: Domination of Draka
Maybe by teaming the Culture, Time Lords, and Quinn Mallory from Sliders you might be able to pull it off.

All thats needed is a time machine, just go back and sink the Canadians and Americans en route to South Africa.
Then nuke Cape Town and the head waters of every South African river.

How about the Necrons from WH40K, They have an artificial construct with a diameter of 1.04 AU and can travel at 3x10^12 times C

Elminate?
One Sun-Crusher and Quin Mallery Should do the Trick
Or the Andmoida fully stock with Nova Missiles
Of course this is assuming I'm just elminating them and not try to take thier worlds intact

With Quinn Mallory from Sliders for interdimensional travel, & the Core for the galaxy killing power it should be able possible. Mass produce Galactic Implosion devices. Power them up, THEN shoot them into the dimension in question. Garrentied to kill all of them in that galaxy.
Rince and repeat.
Or send through hourds of TA Core units if I need to capture the planets.
The hardest part is finding them of course. Might take a breif jaunt to capture some Kromage Interdimensional tech.

Query: How would any of you plan to locate every last Draka colony in alternate dimensions? Remember, ONE Draka survives, and you lose.
Probable cause for concern: With their Molehole device, one has to be wary of Draka infiltration. For that matter the less human you are, the less you need worry about that.
Challenge: Once you have assembled a viable force, try doing it with elements from only one universe.

Those "Downtimer" from the Manifold series by Baxter...
They were already collapsing whole universes that didn't turn out the way they desired. I don't see any problme for them to defeat the Draka.
Then you also have the Timelord. Time Travel can be a bitch to deal with. Especially when the rules are looped such that it only affect you and not them...
Even at a lesser power level, you've got Xeelee, whom can't be defeat unless you time travel too... And with their Ring they certinly can go around exterminate every last one Draka.
Then you can get out the Culture or TechnoCore, lack any interdimensonal tech at beginning will be at a short disadvantage at first. But Any Culture Drone or Core Nemes Agent can and will easily capture a Draka soilder and then they'd get the tech required to extermiate the Draka.

Well, none of the race I described was actually God-like beings. Okay, maybe the Downtimers are one, but I get info on those guys second-handed and I usually give them the benefit of doubt that they aren't Q-like beings.IDMR wrote:Which bit of 'non god-like' did you fail to understand?
The rest have tech that are perfectly explained inside their own universe, so they are hardly god-like at all
BTW, I define God-like as pretty much like Q, ie, you can do something just because you want to do it, instead of having developed the technology to do it. By that stance none of the Civ I metion qualify.

Re: Imperial Smack Down: Domination of Draka
Quinn Mallory, Vedrans, and several Glorious Heritage Cruisers fully stocked with nova bombs and PSPs could also do the trick. The Vedrans can provide tesseracting technology that in both spaceborne and infantry combat would rob the Draka of their advantages. Simply walk up to a Draka while tesseracted and invisible then rip out their heart.

The Beast from Homeworld: Cataclysm. It'll take a while, but it's ability to rapidly duplicate any technology will do the trick.

There is no God.
But it does not matter.
Man is enough.

There will never be a resolution in the evolution vs creationism debate because neither side can conclusively prove that they are right. The creationists can't prove that they're right becuase they're not, and the evolutionists can't prove that they're right because the creationists are too damn stupid to listen.

I could argue that culture and Xelee are god-like for a long, long time*, but I shan't. Instead I shall say that in the context of this thread no power above culture/ Xelee level may be used. Try to make this a challenge!septesix wrote:Nonononono, Culture-level tech are only Culture-Like, God-like is a whole lots of levels higher. Check OmegaPaladin's Organzization Chart for reference. *(Perhaps I should clarify a trifle - many of the so-called god-like races, such as the Q or the Triad, had never demonstrated power and control even close to the level of the Culutre, let alone the Xelee. I am sceptical at best to their claims of omnipotence)

The Daleks from Dr Who, as they havetime travel abilities not far behind the time lords, and the ability to BDZ planets, at their last appearance anyway, Go back and BDZ earth as the Dominion of Draka is founded.
