Agreed. He's an amazing versatile actor. He's funny in "Big Trouble in Little China", intense in "The Thing", and very believable as Wyatt Earp in "Tombstone". His last scene with Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer, another underrated actor) was his best.Drewcifer wrote:Kurt Russell
I watched both Vanilla Sky and the original Stargate movie on DVD the other night, and later, watched them again with the audio commentaries. Both directors said that he the most underrated actor in Hollywood. I thought about it, and then went back and compared his performances. He truly is an amazing actor. Especially in Stargate, there were some parts where he only lifted and eyebrow or nodded his head, saying volumes without opening his mouth.

Mira Furlan: she only got mentioned once in a thread about underrated actors.

I don't like the plotting and the technical background was ineptly designed but I have nothing against the actors.Stormbringer wrote:Enlightenment saying somethin good about some from Babylon 5? This doesn't seem right.

Argh. I keep wanting to ask you guys if you've seen the movie "Stigmata" and then ask how many of you are totally in love with Gabriel Byrne (the priest in it), but most of you are GUYS (and het ones at that)!! Argh. Well, even if you aren't in love with him, isn't it a kickass movie? Rah!

Um. I've seen the movie and I don't think it was that good, not bad, but not mindblowing. Gabriel Byrne seemed to be a decent actor. I didn't know he was underrated though.Zaia wrote:Argh. Ok, fair enough. Maybe it was one of those movies that I was told kinda sucked and then, when I finally saw it, didn't understand why my friends said it sucked and therefore thought it kicked ass. I don't know; I have this thing for finding priests sexy...mwahahah... J/K, mostly.neoolong wrote:Um. I've seen the movie and I don't think it was that good, not bad, but not mindblowing. I also love "The Faculty," so.....yeah.

Babriel Byrne- Greatest rendition of Satan ever (yes, End of Days was a good movie) Usual suspects was my first DVD ever. And Stigmata was ok only because of him.
Samuel L Jackson- Over 200 movies on his resume and puts in a completly new performance everytime. Cop/Criminal/Super Villain/Scientist/Computer geek/Billionare adventurer/Hit Man etc etc etc
Jenna Jameson- Not that great, but I am trying to see all of her movies.

Okay...priests, right. *Backing slowly away* Naw, I like The Faculty though. I tend to like, even if it's just a little bit, most movies. There probably aren't that many movies that I would consider bad.Zaia wrote:Ok, fair enough. Val Kilmer, definately. I just watched Real Genius the other night and "MMMMMM" is all I have to say. Plus he was great in the movie The Ghost and the Darkness and The Island of Dr Moreau (if I spelled that right)
And maybe not so underrated, Tim Curry
And according to an online pole... 1,159 women agreed with ME, and chose "Tim Curry" as the best sex option of all time http://test3.thespark.com/sluttest/
So I am not the only dork out there.

Does Nicolas Cage count?
I swear, I like his stuff. Even when he donned a ridiculous haircut and accent for Con Air.

Three more underrated actresses I'd go with are:
Angela Basset
Katherine Heigl
Mili Avital
I totally agree with Kurt Russel
He can come off as atough guy in many of his movies, but in Executive Decision he also was a very convincing nerdy guy.
