That's something I've pointed out before. It isn't simply the height of the actor that's an issue, but more of the viewing angle. Since it's from high above the deck, the stormtrooper appears "squashed", so any measurements made with the assumption that the trooper still "appears" to be 1.83m tall will be off.

The stormtroopers in all the movies are clearly (by 2-3") shorter than Ford. How much does this throw off Weyoun's calculations? Sorry, my math sucks.
Unfortunately, not much since we're only talking about an inch or two or three in the context of close to two meters.

However, thats the SMALLEST of the problems with Weyoun's "measurements"

The trekkies has renewed their energy with the notion of a 686.5 meter ISD...
In that case the Tantive IV would only be around 45 meters long..

More like 64 meters actually (however, the body without engine section would be 45 meters long). They've continued with this nonsense, and claims that the old scaling diagram made soon after the linear Millennium Falcon became the blockade runner (and made before the scale revision) shows the true relative sizes of the Millennium Falcon and the blockade runner. I pointed out (and Vympel supplied the proper screencaps) that we in two different instances in ROTJ sees the Millennium Falcon flying by very close to an exact same blockade runner (or corvette) as the Tantive IV, clearly showing their true relative sizes. Darkstar countered by claiming (listen to this, this is funny!) that the blockade runner seen in ROTJ doesn't belong to the same ship class as the Tantive IV, but a larger class. He supports this "idea" by mentioning that the windows along the ridge can only be seen on the ROTJ corvette and not the ANH Tantive IV (while it's true that the windows was cut out for ROTJ, the windows could clearly be seen in both ventral and dorsal positions on the CG Tantive IV from the ROTS trailer and TV ad, it's possible these windows were covered up later for some reason as part of a refit between ROTS and ANH a representative of the OS has suggested). These kinds of outrageous and totally unsupported claims shows the weak position they have, and the dishonest approach some of them have to discussions.

We can only hope that some scenes in RotS allow us to assurtain the correct size of the windows on the Tantive IV and hence it's size, scaling the Tantive IV against the Devastator is rather easy giving us the final proof.

Yes, I think it will. I haven't read the screenplay (it's now available for purchase), but I can think of a number of scenes where we'll get a good view of the Tantive IV in ROTS (I do believe we'll even see it landed).

They are incredible. I won't turn this into a Darkstar thread, suffice to say is that I'm currently proving with irrefutable evidence to Darkstar from which docking bay Luke left the DS II in ROTJ. Such a nitpick crowd.

The OT ICS states that the windows were permanently covered by armor plate at some point for added protection.

Yes but this is Darkstar we're talking about. The ICS is part of that "parallel universe" bullshit leaving scooter to makeup what ever he likes.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I find it quite pointless to discuss things with Darkstar, but with every rebuttal he gives, he's exposing himself.

Thank you, Quadlok! I don't have the OT:ICS, so this was very much welcome.

Yes, and to use any means necessary to make the evidence fit into his beliefs.
