To that, depends...in the end, the novel can sbe sorted out to how I am wrong. I concede that point. My point was you didn't provide anything to say why I was wrong, other then your interpretation of the events.Alexus wrote:With that I meant is it worth going off on a tangent. It would help if YOU DID.
Which is the point of DEBATING.

If I am not complete off that implies that the Falcon is just faster then a Imperial Class Star Destroyer and they weren’t able to keep up, nothing said about tracking the Falcon, in fact. EU makes the Faclon x4 times as fast as a Imperial Class I Star Destroyer, btw.HAN: Well, you can forget your troubles with those Imperial slugs. I told you I'd outrun 'em
If we go by the EU then they usually copy the Hyperspace vector the other ship took and just jump after it, which points more to them not being able to track a ship directly.
Check your facts!
The scene progression you're all describing is off. Leia says "Han, hurry! The fleet will be here any moment!" when Han goes about setting the charges and such.
The Imperial fleet is depicted on the screen when the Rebel commandos are ambushed and the Imperial officer says, "You Rebel scum."
It's nitpickery, yes, but it's irritatng

Well anyways, said movement of the Imperial fleet before the advent of Lando and the Rebels indicates that the Endor base had indeed detected the Rebel fleet, regardless of the circumstances. Said movement also happened at least 35 seconds before the Rebel fleet was shown to exit hyperspace. From there it's really nothing more than a stroll in determining the range of SW sensors circa Endor period.
