I liked the dialog personally.
Did you notice, though, that the novelization didn't even cover Kashyyk? Not at all. I have the feeling that in RotS the entire Kashyyk sequence is merely action for action's sake. I understand they have to get Yoda out of Coruscant (the novelization goes into detail abou the Jedi Council's plan to get Sidious to reveal himself, and that includes getting Yoda out of play on Coruscant so Sidious would be more comfortable in making a drastic move)- but still, Kashyyk is basically going to be:
- Cool, Wookies!
- Cool, Juggernauts!
etc.

Pretty much. I mean, not that this is necessarily going to be bad, I mean, the Clone Wars aren't over until the last 20 minutes of the film or so, and one more ground battle with JUGGERNAUTS rules, but still ...
I have a feeling that even though it's obviously an apology of sorts for not having Wookies in RotS like originally planned, watching it will make us even more annoyed that it wasn't the Wookies who fought the Empire on Endor (or Kashyyk, whatever) and instead those stupid Ewoks.
I mean, seriously, can you imagine what that scene at the start of the Battle of Endor would look like if the horn blew and hundreds of fucking Wookies appeared, toting bowcasters and chucking Stormtroopers every which way?

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
The novel canonises that nonsense about mechanical-vader being only able to reach a fraction of the power he used to be able to.
The final version of the Death Star was indeed started around the time Leia arrived on Alderann, and before the Lars family got Luke.
And, thankfully, the Windu & friends vs Palpy fight looks different in the trailer than the book version. The book has Palpy start by getting the first one to lower his guard, and decapitating him with a saber throw.
In good news:
Gen Grevious can make no less than twenty strikes with his lightsabers per second.
Obi-wan is now the Jedi Order's premier swordsman in Mace Windu's opinion.
The jedi habit of taking the Younglings so early was part of their downfall. The New Jedi Order's ones are no weaker than Old Republic Jedi, they are in fact, more likely to win against a dark sider, because they're not simply trained from near birth to fight the last war, but actually have personalities of their own.
Emperor Palpatine has two lightsabers.

Well, look at it this way, we get two battles (on Kashyyyk and Utapau) for one Dark Side Conversion. I´d say that´s not a bad deal. Especially since people have been complaining about "not enough wars in Star Wars".so another special effects/cgi brawl fest
Overall, the Clone Wars will cover more or less 8 battles in two films, while the Galactic Civil War covered 3 battles in three films. Not bad.
I don´t care what FX they use, as long as it looks good. Judging by the trailers, it looks good.

You know, looking at scans from the art books and such, I'm really glad that Iain McCaig has been one of the concept artists for the Prequel Trilogy. A lot of his stuff, used in the final versions or not, are just beautiful, and I simply love his distinct drawing style.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Seriously?!The novel canonises that nonsense about mechanical-vader being only able to reach a fraction of the power he used to be able to.
Does it basically describe when he gets off the table he's weaker or something more explicit?

I think it was Lucas who said that, in the suit he´s slightly weaker than Palpatine, while before the suit he was more powerful than him. This apparently annoys Palpatine, since he wanted a strong apprentice that would lead the Empire after his death and continue the Sith legacy. (Or so I read somewhere...)

I know that...but Necron said that the novel canonize it. That's what I'm wondering.VT-16 wrote:I think it was Lucas who said that, in the suit he´s slightly weaker than Palpatine, while before the suit he was more powerful than him. It is directly based on a scene in the movie. Thus, G level canon. What novellists and VD writers add to scenes in the movies, (such as the Shuura fruit's name) is G level.VT-16 wrote:The novel and it´s contents would be C-canon, as far as I´m concerned. Haven´t read it, though, so I don´t know if what he said is true.

A lot of general stuff here and there throughout, really, primarily characters. For TPM, he did a lot of the Naboo stuff such as several Padme costumes. Also did Darth Maul and several Jedi.VT-16 wrote:Which designs was he responsible for?
For AotC, McCaig really pushed for having Count Dooku's character be a woman, and the final designs for such eventually would be used for Ventress. Also had the earlier idea of making the character a female droid/cyborg Sith, which might have given some inspiration for Grievous.

Yes. Before falling into the lava, Vader was ready to kill Sidious and take over the galaxy after he extracted Plagueis' secrets from him. After, he tries and fails.VT-16 wrote:I think it was Lucas who said that, in the suit he´s slightly weaker than Palpatine, while before the suit he was more powerful than him. Actually, that may not be necessarily true. The same extract goes on to say that Vader doesn't really want to kill "the shadow". We see this in Vader's attitude in TESB and RotJ- he vacillates from destroying the Emperor and ruling the galaxy with his son to obeying his Master without question.Yes. Before falling into the lava, Vader was ready to kill Sidious and take over the galaxy after he extracted Plagueis' secrets from him. After, he tries and fails.
Also, I think your "lightsabre throw" intepretation is a bit off- it's clear to me that Sidious sped from his chair to decapitate whatshisface and back. Hence him having to go back to the desk to destroy the recording device.
I also don't think Sidious' lightsabre will be destroyed by Mace in the film. More likely it'll be kicked out of his hand, as depicted by the comic.
My canon analysis of the novelization is complete, btw. I just need to post it.

That's the way I read it in the script too, which by the way kicks so much ass (despite the Lucasisms in it), although I still avoided the Obi-Wan/Anakin brawl, keepin' myself spoiler free on that one.Vympel wrote:I also don't think Sidious' lightsabre will be destroyed by Mace in the film.
