Fair Match Up Number One: Trade Federation vs Federation
Trade Federation vs Federation
TF: Maybe twenty thousand battlships with a total firepower of bout one megaton. (!)
F: Maybe two hundred true warships with an alpha strike of about five megatons. (!)
Who wins and how long does it take?

Not sure how long it would take, maybe a few years rather than a instant blitzkrieg, but the (human) Feds lose it again. They don't have anything to punch through the TF's shields. And the TF has a ground army that has actually been equipped with tanks and heavy weapons, not silly little tv-remotes-of-death.

You can't get positronic quantumphased multifrequency matrixes that small. Do you think a Multi-phasic triaxillated flux tesselator would do the job?Offcourse, if the UFP would send a positronic quantumphased radiowave hidden in a multifrequency matrix, they could infect the TF droids causing them to go beserk
crap I forgot the triaxulating part. No wonder I flunked out of StarfleetAlexus wrote:You can't get positronic quantumphased multifrequency matrixes that small. That's the core ship. The spherical bit. They have dedicated ring sections that have heavy turbolasers.Alexus wrote:The TF ships have around 300 6 kiloton laser cannon, or so I'm TOLD.
In answer to the outstanding question, those numbers are for the core ship's PD array, and come from the AotC ICS.

More to the point, Core ship shielding is incredible. They can sit inside a star and be undamaged until their fuel runs out.

From the Core Ship's writeup in the ICS: peak shield capacity 6e23W18-Till-I-Die wrote:Wait, where is THAT?NecronLord wrote:More to the point, Core ship shielding is incredible. They can sit inside a star and be undamaged until their fuel runs out.
Or are you kidding?
The energy-density of a star's photosphere is 10 kJ/m³. While a Core Ship is big, it's not enough to raise that above the shield capacity.
So yes. A Core Ship can imitate the Culture and hide inside a star...

I'm not. That was when I started preffering the Trade Federation to the Empire. Awesomely powerful ships, automated, run by a few techs who live in utter luxury, with armies of robots to do their every whim. It sure beats the Empire, who seem to bend over backwards to make dirty, smelly jobs aborad their ships for recruits.
Or are you kidding?
