Annyoing FF Character?
It hit me one day as I sit around idly bored... which FF Character was the most annoying? I've only played the most recent oh... five, and em. Which one, folks? Including, but not limited to...
Cloud - The higher the hair, the closer to god?
Squall - Clearly walking on the other side of the fence.
Zidane - A furry. A dirty, dirty furry!
Tidus - Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha.
Yuna - Please, everyone loves me. PAY ATTENTION TO ME (LA LA LA LA)
Em. That's all.
(Hides before she gets attacked by mobs of SDNers who hate those games. Even if a few of them are quite deserving of hate, though.)

I vote Wakka. Couldn't stand that guy.
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia
Yuffie. I hate that materia stealing bitch. Nothing in Kingdom Hearts gave me more joy than kicking her ass. Repeatedly.
Squall. Look at me, I'm the main character and yet I don't give a shit about anything!
Zidane. Look at me, I give a shit about everything! Seriously, I think he was the backlash from having a protaginist as indifferent as Squall in the last game. They moved to the opposite end of the spectrum with him and it was almost as bad.

FF6: Strago and Realm both struck me as extraneous additions that the game could've done without.
FF7: Yuffie annoyed the hell out of me. The only thing I ever used her for was to get Leviathan. Then she went straight back into the reserves and I never looked at her again.
FF8: I'm convinced that if you cut Selphie open, you'll find not blood but lots and lots of sugar. And Seifer, to whom I say: STOP ACTING LIKE A FUCKING STEREOTYPE. Annoyed me to no end.

Tidus.
God I wanted to throttle that little bastard, he's so fucking passive and useless. One of the reasons I enjoyed FFX-2 more than FFX was that Yuna had more balls than Tidus.
Admittedly, he's just the latest in a long line of Square leading men whose general outlook could be improved by a bullet in the head. Tidus is possibly the worst, though Fei gives him a run for his money (with additional appaling traslation)
Bah, Vyse would kick them in the teeth and steal their women.

If it wasn't required, Relm's ability would be perhaps the most useless one I can remember from that game.Kuja wrote:FF6: Strago and Realm both struck me as extraneous additions that the game could've done without.
Yuffie is also useful for getting Trine on all your Enemy Skill materias, and with her ultimate weapon, the Conformer, you can get full power Morphs, which in turn is very useful the place you get it, the Sunken Gelnika. (IIRC, normally a Morph hit only does 1/10 of damage of a normal physical attack.)FF7: Yuffie annoyed the hell out of me. The only thing I ever used her for was to get Leviathan. However, it's not like FF7 was difficult or anything.

I'm not a big fan of those two, but I see them as important to the game solely from the viewpoint of Shadow's backstory. Unfortunately getting to Shadow's backstory is a real bitch.
If you turned Relm into an imp and gave her all the imp equipment, she totally rocked. I also did that with Setzer the gambling man. The useless characters were made into powerhouses.Cyborg Stan wrote:If it wasn't required, Relm's ability would be perhaps the most useless one I can remember from that game.Kuja wrote:FF6: Strago and Realm both struck me as extraneous additions that the game could've done without.
Want to know who I found annoying? Edward from FFIV. Stupid useless wimpy bard. Since he was just going away soon anyway, there was no reason to use him, either. I hated Gordon in FFII also. His character was even more annoying. "Waah, I'm a cowardly prince who won't do anything even though my kingdom has been ravaged and destroyed and my brother has been unmercifully slaughtered, but then I'll undergo an amazing unbelievable transformation and become all brave and shit." I bet he was secretly a bard, too.
Am I the only person who didn't like Seifer in FFVIII?

Wrong, it was good for getting the Relm Sketch Bug. That right there funded me through the rest of the game and gave Shadow an unlimited supply of Schimitars to throw for 9999 damage =D.Cyborg Stan wrote:If it wasn't required, Relm's ability would be perhaps the most useless one I can remember from that game.Kuja wrote:FF6: Strago and Realm both struck me as extraneous additions that the game could've done without.
I hate everything about VIII, including the characters. Tidus is close behind for most annoying character — I have a deep, irrational hatred for his half-shorts.
VII is tied with VI for my favorite.

Squall - Insufferable pillock
Tidus - I want FFX purged from the annals of history and all associated with it burned.
Yuna - As above
Wakka - As above, but more so.

Yuffie irritated the hell out of me. I ended up on "Yuffie Island" before I was ready, and subsequently got hammered.

Rikku, while fit, annoyed the shit out of me. I could stand her in FFX, but in FFX-2 it was like she had ADHD or something.
Le Blanc and her cronnies pissed me off no end too.

Tidus. FFX is actually the only modern one I've finished (beat the original FF also), and I hated that little moron. Kid's dumber than dirt, and his ego's a bit large for someone who's an underwater rugby player.
The Black Mage ticked me off too. Useless character (see? I don't even remember her name), because her special abilities were hard to use.
And I just dislike Cloud for some reason. Maybe it's the whole "wielding a sword bigger than he is" thing. It looks stupid.

Yeah, but that's why it's fun to regularly beat the shit out of them.Dorsk 81 wrote:Rikku, while fit, annoyed the shit out of me. I could stand her in FFX, but in FFX-2 it was like she had ADHD or something.

The problem with Rikku in FFX-2, I think, was that in FFX her entire cause was finding a way to save Yuna's life. She has no real defining purpose in FFX-2. So she's just the comic relief. The scantily-clad comic relief.
But the real annoyance was her brother, who got smacked with the stupid stick. Even Tidus wasn't that bad. Personally I'd have thrown him off the Celsius quite a long while ago. I certainly wanted to kill him during the infiltration of Leblanc's manor. And his infatuation with Yuna was just damned creepy.
But let's face it, FFX-2 was the result of the creative team taking some kind of drug - I can't decide yet if they were high or on crack - while watching the movie "Charlie's Angels" again and again.

FF characters always seem to be very shallow, there really is no depth to them at all. It reminds me of high school freshman with wepons and really bad hair.Everyone in FFx and FFx2 pissed me off... Except for Lulu, anyone with a skirt made out of belts, and extreme cleavage is alright by me.

Edward annoyed me...for ten minutes. Then he started putting enemies to sleep every time he attacked. Then I got him a better harp and I could sit back and watch enemy forces rip each other to pieces while I follwed my carefully laid plan of 1. Point and 2. No, honestly. Yeah, there's the same four cut-out characters over and over again. I totally /hated/ FF7 Aeris/Aerith, whatever. Mainly over those people who insist it's spelled one way or another to the point of militancy. But hrm. The winner is FFX Yuna, who talks like a robot, and is totally loved by everyone for no reason. Look. I have no personality. My eyes are different colors, so I am SPESHUL.

sans Rufus, and the Turks,i found most of the characters from Shinra inc. in FF7 to be annoying. too much like saturday morning cartoon badguys for my liking.
FF9 - that freya chick. was she even needed at all?
FF6 - not many complaints against this one. but i did find oomaro and gogo slightly irritating, if only for their utter pointlessness.
FF4 - i have to second Edward. whiniest bitch out of most of the games.
FF8 - Squall, for obvious reasons. Rinoa struck me as whiny and selfish, so she's annoying for that reason. didn't care much for Quistis either. hell, most of the characters in that game annoyed me. and the final villain seemed like something that was pulled out of their writers ass at the last minute to cover up the lack of a decent script.

In FFX, yea, ok, I'll give you Yuna was dull and boring, but atleast she got better in FFX-2, even if the game took a turn for the worse, atleast she grew a pair... metaphorically speaking.Nephtys wrote:The winner is FFX Yuna, who talks like a robot, and is totally loved by everyone for no reason. Wakka. God I hate Wakka. His accent, his clothes, the fact that he's an athelete and thinks shit like that is important when the world is going to hell. His weapon is a freaking ball for chrissakes. Wow, he has a ranged attack and can be used underwater. Between Tidus and Lulu, he's not even needed. Just... freaking annoying.
His anti-technology religious fanaticism made me want to puke, too.
Blue mages are always annoying because you have to collect their spells, but that's true with the entire class, not anything personal. I liked Quina, Quistis and Gau- Once they had all their abilities that is.
