WHAT? Is this in the DVD release of the OT?

Okaaaay then, time to find some blackmarket DVD's of the OT pre-George pissing all over it.

Oh and NecronLord could you quote for me where Mace confirms that Obi-Wan is the mack-daddy of all of SW lightsabre use please?

RotS novel, Page 293: wrote:There is an understated elegance in Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber technique, on that is quite unlike the fee one might get from the other swordsbeings ofthe Jedi Order. He lacks entirely the flash, the pure bold élan of Anakin Skywalker; there is nowhere in him the penumbral ferocity of a Mace Windu or a Depa Billaba nor the stylish grace of a Shaak Ti or a Dooku, and there is nothing resembling the whirlwind of destruction that Yoda can become.
He is simplicty itself.
That is his power.
Before Obi-Wan had left Coruscant, Mace Windu had told him of facing Grievious in single combat atop a mag-lev train during the general's daring raid to capture Palpatine. Mace had told him how the computers slaved toe Grievous's brain had apparently analysed even Mace[s unconventionally letha Vaapad and had been able to respond in kind after a single exchance.
"He must have been trained by Count Dooku," Mace had said, "so you can expect Makashi as well; given the number of Jedi he has fought and slain, you must expect that he can attack in any style, or all of them. In fact, Obi-Wan, I believe that of all living Jedi, you have the best chance to defeat him.
This pronouncement had startled Obi-Wan, and he had protested. After all, the olny form in which he was truly even proficient was Soresu, which was the most common lightsaber form of the Jedi Order. Founded unpon the basid deflection principles all Padawans were taught - to enable them to protect themselves from blaster bolts - Soresu was very simple, and so restrained and defense-oriented that it was very nearly downright passive.
"But surely, Master Windu," Obi-Wan had said, "you, with the power of Vaapad - or Yoda's mastery of Ataro-"
Mace Windu had almost smiled. "I created Vaapad to answer my own weakness: it channels my own darkness into a weapon of the light. Master Yoda's Ataro is an answer to weakness: the limitations of reach and mobility imposed by his stature and his age. But for you? What weakness does Soresu answer."
Blinking, Obi-Wanhad been forced to admit that he'd never actually thought of it that way.
"That is so like you, Master Kenobi," the Korun Master had said, shaking his head. "I am called a great swordsman because I invented a lethal style; but who is greater, the creator of a killing form - or the master of the classic form?"
"I'm very flattered that you would consider me a master, but really-"
"Not a master. The master," Mace had said. "Be who you are, and Grievous wil never defeat you."
So now, facing the tornado of annihilating energy that is Grevous's attack, Obi-Wan simply is who he is.

Ssswweeeeeet! :D

Thanks bud.

Although I'm a little disappointed in George in not letting Obi-Wan say in the prequels; there are alternatives to fighting.

Would have been nice once or twice.

I think it's in there actually. He might have said it to the general when attempting to convince him to surrender.

What example are you think of? On board the Invisible Hand or with their duel on Utapa (or whatever the fuck the planet is called) :?:

Naboo guy: "We would never have been enslaved if it weren't for you asstard."
Maybe that´s what that crowd was, a lynch mob. :P

Now here´s a nice treat, some history and culture:

http://img152.exs.cx/img152/7543/palpfrieze5jf.jpg

It´s a frieze in Palpatine´s quarters, showing "a happier time". (Looks like they got that freaky Sith Witch in the movies, after all.)

There´s also a frieze on Jabba´s sail barge in ROTJ, showing him with lots of naked chicks. Another Lucas-mirror scene(TM).

And it´s Utapau, only been with SW lore since the early 70's. :P

Okay, about a year ago I set a spoiler limit for myself. So I'm not going to read the script. But my question is this: Is it good? Near OT level?

In my opinion, it's very solid. Although Padme's scenes have the potential to be ruined if Portman STILL hasn't gotten over her acting hangups in such a situation (unlike Hayden, who is himself a SW fan, Portman isn't, and at times during the filming of AotC he has actually gotten upset because she wasn't taking it all seriously enough or broadening her imagination).

Also, taking about two and a half hours in two different bookstores looking at the "Art of" and "Making of" books. Among seeing perhaps hundreds of amazing pieces of artwork, my lack of concern about the atromech droids fitting in the Jedi fighters has been reconfirmed: the droids indeed fit in a hole that goes all the way through the hull. It's just that most images are taken from angles where you don't see the bottom half of the droid, because it's not very flattering.

Although I am a bit bummed out that the earlier ideas for Cato Neimoidia didn't survive all the way through intact: that ring would have been fucking KILLER!!

Excellent. If George Lucas' writing is continuing on its upwards trend from TPM, then RotS has a great potential to be very good.

Holy Hell, "Battle of the Heroes" totally fucking pwns "Duel of the Fates."

At least four tracks from the soundtrack have been posted at MF.com.

Battle of The Heroes is good, but Duel of The Fates it is not.

That has got to be the best orchestral piece of the 21st century (or at least the year). Wow...

You know, when you contrast it to Anakin's theme in TPM, you really can feel how evil he has become, as there are hints of it buried throughout 'Battle of the Heroes'.

EDIT: Come to think of it, this seems almost designed to be highlighted with the sounds of lightsabers.

I've only heard the Imperial March once in the soundtrack, and that's from "Anakin vs Obi-Wan." But then again, this is only 1 hour and 12 minutes of music, so maybe they'll reuse old tracks to fill in the spaces.

TF.N has a listing of the deleted scenes from RotS. While I'm disappointed it seems Mon Mothma's being cut out, I can't say I have the same sentiment to see Jar-Jar's only dialogue scene clipped, as well.
