Do you realize how many direct hits Protoss can take from a gauss rifle (not to mension Seige Tank rounds) and still keep coming? The Jedi get slaughtered in ways unimaginable.

Well it depends on how high a regard you hold SC weaponry. SC has calcs from both end of the spectrum, ranging from weaponry weaker than a bow and arrow to Exaton leveled weapons

Very well. Let's say that a fully upgraded Gauss Rifle is only as strong as a bow and arrow. A Protoss with no upgrades and no regenerating shields can take 17 fully upgraded Gauss Rifle shots and still not fall. Can a Jedi then take (I'm not talking about blocking here) anywhere near 17 hits with an arrow? Unless they can pull off an impressive version of Boromir, then even the weakest possible SC calc show the Protoss to be head and sholders above Jedi in durability.

Oh, you don't understand. Over at SB.com, as a joke, a member did calcs on SC assuming a BattleCruisers laser blast moved at C.

We ended up with megameter tall Marines who could likely punch ships in low orbit, firing TT level rifle blasts. Good fun was had by all

Seriously, though, it's near impossible to get any sort of calcs out of SC. Our only hope is when SC:G comes out.

In-game calcs are shit. Any thinking person should realize RTS games are heavily tilted against reality and CS's gameplay is no exception.

Does anyone really think that hydralisks and marines would be able to down Battlecruisers and Carriers?

Look at the size of the carrier in some of the Protoss loading screens.

Cinematics are the only decent calcs. And according to those, the rifles are shit. The Protoss get their asses handed to them.

Depends on the Jedi on second thought. A Jedi Knight should be able to take a Dark Templar, and a Jedi Master should be able to take the High Templar. High Templar kills other Jedi.

It all depends on how strong there shields are, the Destroyer Droid's personal shieldings forced a Jedi Padawan and a MASTER to retreat, although that maybe because they didn't want to be pinned down when re-enforcements came. Also depends if Psi-Blades can Lightsaber blades. I think your general run of the mill Knight could take a Zealot if it's shields aren't too strong, but die to the rest. A run of the mill Jedi master(like the ones on the council) or a character shielded Jedi Knight(Obi/Luke) could sense the Templar and maybe take it out. A sith master just might be able to take out the High Templar if it can match it's Psi Strom abilities but shot of that, dead.

Irrelevant, becaust the Jedi Order would never engage a full army of Protoss.

I would say that on a one-to-one basis, the Jedi win on all counts. The Jedi would get their butts handed to them in mass combat, of course, but that's because the Jedi just don't make an extremely efficient combat unit.

1. Depends if lightsabers can penetrate shielding. Otherwise, Zealot rushes the Jedi and impales him repeatedly.

2. Dark Templar has shielding just like the zealot. And their warp blades are pretty nasty. I say Dark Templar

3. High Templar wins. Sith lightning is strong and all, but have they ever liquidated whole groups of people at once?

And also take into account that all Protoss are psychics. Zealots are low-level psychics, yes, but as psychics I believe that they'd be able to withstand Jedi mind-tricks at the very least.
