Quick Question...

So I'm working on a FanFic and I have this faction that is rather powerful (realtivly speaking) and has thier own force of ships. Problem is I don't know what to call this 'force' The ships are:

1-Victory-SD
2-Old Republic Dreadnaughts
2-Lancer Frigates
4-Carrack Cruisers
8-Marauder Corvettes

For purposes of the group in question, this is thier full fleet of Capital ships. But what would others call this? ((and this is where I need the help)) A fleet? A taskforce? Any ideas?

I'd go with either Flotilla or Squadron.

What about

A flotilla or armada or strike force.

Also is this a completely independent faction or has it been set a task by the new republic etc.

Sounds like a battle group formed around the Victory, which would probably act as the Flagship. So, battle group or squadron. It's too big for a flotilla. Commanded probably by a Read Admiral (two stars).

Are the ships detached from a larger fleet? If so, then task force followed by a number or the name of the commander is good. Otherwise, most any name will do.

For the people that own the ships, they have a few more that the have at thier home base, that the rotate in and out of battle, but for the mostpart this is thier full Fleet.

Thanks for the input though, I think I will be using either 'StrikeForce' or 'StrikeGroup'
