Aw what tha hell! Time for a classic SpaceBattles Debate!

Good god, I'm gone for a few hours and look at this. SAMAS, is you could wank any harder, you'd be jerking Pikachu off with one hand and yourself with the other. Your subborn refusal to see reason and let go of your "Pokemon are uber" attitude, not even in a "suspension of beflief" situation, is no doubt how you 'win' these debates, rather than through rational arguments. No doubt once we grow tired of your wall of ignorance and leave, you will declare yourself the victor.
In short, STOP WANKING AND ACT RATIONAL.

Incidentally, the Netherese have spells for flipping over mountains. Can a Diglet do that?

Haha. I didn't even think of that. A single Archwizard can hurl an entire mountain range at someone or something.Cyril wrote:Incidentally, the Netherese have spells for flipping over mountains. Can a Diglet do that?

The one in my little scenario was only about 18th level. Just enough to cast an altered version of dimension door as a quickened action.

oops, looks like he couldn't come up with anything against Bahamut vaporizing the entire lot of them.
Though we are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

That depends on wether or not Dark can be considered Negative.SirNitram wrote:'Oh, it's just an energy blast'. Mmm hmmm. Sadly, negative energy isn't so easily defended against.
Not that it matters much.
You're saying it like it does. The unoun are not a single Deity with multiple bodies. They are a colony of multiple induvidual Pokemon. Even though one Unoun can be still formidable on it's own, they are damn near all-powerful together.Sorry, you lose. Since you demand we use Pokemon rules for determining if AD&D defenses work, I invoke the same thing: Killing Wind wipes the field because no Pokemon has the ability to resist raw death. Have a nice day.
Actually, they have:
Endure(can't be taken down)
Protect(attack does nothing)
Being a ghost Pokemon(Already dead)
And anything wearing a Focus Band.
Alternatively if you want to go strictly by Pokemon game rules(I rarely do, unless there's no other way to explain it), I could also combine a Quick Claw with Fissure or Horn Drill. Then again, some of the more powerful Pokemon and attacks may be able to do the job by themselves.
I never said they didn't have any. In fact, let's look back at what started this:'Hm... so at best, Alyrium's ueber-munchy NPC is casting a spell every four seconds. '
And it still takes the Pokemon 9 minutes to breach a Prismatic Sphere. Except they don't have magic or supernatural abilities, so they can't penetrate at all.
You, or someone else, claimed that an anti-magic shell could stop a Pikachu from using it's electrical abilities.
I said no, because A Pikachu's electrical abilities are biological, not supernatural, in nature.
You(and IG) claimed that despite their natural methods of generation and storage, it didn't count, and must be supernatural because it was so powerful it violated the Laws of Thermodynamics.
I said the power level didn't matter, because it was a fictional universe. A Pikachu can still toss lightning, as it was a natural ability, studied and catalogued as natural by the Scientists of that planet.
That was only reguarding one Pokemon. I said nothing about the others.
'Multiple Unoun!' You say this like Avatar doesn't have a clause for swarm deities. It takes the essense of what makes them all-powerful, not their lifeforce. Silly, silly fanboy.

You missed the point of the entire argument. That was only reguarding Pikachu, not any of the other Pokemon. Hell, I even used as a previous example Ninetails, a Pokemon that may have superantural abilities, in addition to it's normal abilities.Vejut wrote:*once more into the breach...*
About your pokemon's power: what were those boulders made of, glass? Sugar crystals? Mankey (or evolved form or whatever...) breaks boulders but FAILS to kill Ash by slamming him into a rock wall and/or punching the hell out of him? Pikachu blows up 'copters, but can't shock anyone to death, either by intention or accident? Then, lets go to charizard/charmeleon/whatever. You see nothing magical in the fact that the quantity of flames he can produce (multiple times), is many times his own body size (for instance, can't name ep, but the one with the large number of walking palm trees)? Or that there is no way in hell as much water as we see can fit in a blastoise shell? And aren't you leaving off several things from your list of magical attacks/things like say, the ghost poke and all their stuff, plants/grass poke having huge quantitities of [steel edged] leaves to hand (razor leaf), (and the fact that said leaves actually can damage pokemon despite not going all that fast). I also don't recall psychic abilities being covered in my physics class....
No. The Reign of Fire Dragons, on the other hand...I supppose you'd consider D&D dragon breath "normal Biological process" too?

And yet they cant do anything while the mage is inside a prismatic shere, yet at the same time the mage can rain death apon you.

Okay, let me rephrase that one: Anime[/i]- style Mirror Coat, which for some reason merely reflects the attack.Andrew J. wrote:Safeguard and Protect last a limited amount of time. Using Mirror Coat would be stupid, because the Pokemon takes damage too, and if the attack kills it, it will not reflect the damage back.SAMAS wrote: Safeguard, Protect, Mirror Coat. Game Over.

That's the comic effect, which is why I don't take things like Team Rocket getting knocked into the air for several miles by the Rage/Tackle attack of a single Eevee in "The Battling Eevee Brothers" as examples, as that's silly for a person to get hit that hard and survive. I throw that off as just comedyVejut wrote:*once more into the breach...*

This is even in the face of the time when they survived falling off a skyscraper in "Haunter vs. Kadabra."
Unless the situation was more serious, like when Ash used himself to get Pikachu to overload the machine in "Pikachu Re-Volts," linked above.

Oh and lets see, the 50th level product of my Munchkiness will slaughter the swarm of unoun. He casts HADOKEN every .4 seconds while inside a prismatic sphere.
5 miles of pure doom in an area effect(cant be blocked by pokemnon powers because it has no specific target) Mirrr will not work because the spell is quickened, silenced, and stilled. Nor does the pokemon heve the knowledge of magic necessary to conjure up a sprismatic sphere. Or a hodoken for that matter. It takes a precise knoledge of the weave of magic to craft a spell. Mirror will not work, as the pokemon does not have the ability to feel the weave of magic. Even if he could mimic the gestures and verbal components, unless he knows how the weave works, they cant do jack shit.

Believe it or not, I actually wanted to debate this one seriously. Someone sets the Pokemon Limit, sends in the Stormtroopers, and we can rationally debate them, without having to pull out any Unoun, Legendaries, or Mew/MewTwo/Celebi. I was thinking that maybe, just maybe, I could get a fresh perspective, and if I was lucky, maybe a more mature debate.
But OOOOhhh, no! I got more of the same "(uhhh)Netherese casts Avatar... (Ooohhh)MK XXXIII Bolo... (Yes, yeeesss)Level 52 Wizard... (almost there...) Prismatic SpherAAAAAHHH!!!" bullshit that happens on SpaceBattles. Only this time There wasn't even a single page of actual debating on the matter at hand! Wong's post was the closest thing to actually staying on topic, and unfortunately he conceded the point. Maybe that's why none of you didn't actually try, rather to go off wanking over the most powerful bullshit you could come up with.
I would say that I don't even know why I let this continue so fast, and so far off topic, but I'd be lying. I'm a bona-fide Palooka bearing a Grenade I don't really care anymore. Concede Defeat, Declare Victory, do what you like I don't give a Fuck anymore. I won't bring it up on this board again.
Mind you, I'm still a Palooka, so if someone else brings it up, I'll probably jump right in if I think they're serious, else I leave you to your circle-jerk parties.
