A CW timeline problem(spoilers)

Post by Lord Revan »

Ok we know that the Battle of Hypori (seen the CW mini-series chap. 20-21) happens(/starts) 0.3 years After the Battle of Geonosis and Jedi Aayla Secura, Ki-Adi-Mundi and Shaak Ti were only survivors from said battle well the end of chapter 21 happens after The Praesitlyn Conflict (happens 2.5 years ABG(from the novel Jedi Trial)) (Anakin is declered a Jedi knight)
In addition that the battle of Hypori would last 2.2 years (by this timeline) there's the problem that Ki-Adi-mundi is involved in the Escape to New Holstice (happens 1.3 years ABG).

So what would be the SOD way of having all this make sence without having to throw too much away?

I say there's a time lapse batween the Jedi Council meeting and the actual Knighting Ceremony.

theres allso a problem with CW and labyrinth of Evil, Anakin and Obi wan are on that one planet and eventually Anakin fights the Techno Union prior to learning about Coruscant. In LoE they end up encountering Dooku before taking off.

Leland Chee said something about "certain events that appear to happen at the same time, are just written that way, they do happen at different points in time". Take that for what it´s worth...

Btw. I haven´t read LoE, could someone point out the discrepancies with the CW?

Well, without being too specific, almost the entire series of events that led to Palpatine's capture is different in the CW season 3 than in LoE. Since the ROTS novelization refers to the events depicted in LoE, my personal opinion is that the events in CW season 3 that covers the capture is apocrypha (especially since the third season doesn't conform to continuity all to well in general).

Are you referring to the duel between Mace and Grievous on top of a train? If so, was Mace with Palpatine when they fought?

If not, you could always explain that he fought Grievous either between taking off in his fighter and crashing it, or after highjacking the Vulture droid and before joining Yoda on that bridge.

EDIT: I recall the CW team saying they didn´t hear from other parts of Lucasfilm about what other ROTS lead-ins were about, so they had no idea if they were consistent with other sources or not. (Funny though, how the online comic strip Reversal of Fortune references both the cartoon and LoE.)

Probably, lol, I don´t know. We only see him jump into one and jumping off one when he arrives and is shot at by Grievous´ shuttle (btw. what class was that ship? I seem to recall seeing it before...)

There's a Leland Chee quote somewhere that clears this one right up, don't know where it is right now though. . .
