What if Earth Alliance evolved in ST universe instead of UFP?
How do you think it would progress, EA the only power with hyperspace while others have warp drives. Assuming a young Earth Alliance just a decade after they could acces to hyperspace they now posses the ability to construct their own jumpgates. How do you think the Romulan war would have progressed etc?
Earth Alliance instead of UFP

Only two problems with the idea:
1) The Centauri gave Humans jump gate technology. While in Star Trek, warp drive was developed locally. The corresponding technology to jump gates in ST is alittle ahead of what the Federation can do in the 24th Century.
2) The EA had only the Earth and several dozen colonies. There may have been a few aliens races but I'm not sure of that. The UFP has dozens of alien races on hundreds of worlds.
However, if you mean the UFP has a governmental structure like the EA (president is elected by popular vote, clear separation between cilivian and military leadership, a professional military with separate space forces and ground forces, a space force whose primary duty is defense not exploration). If you mean like this, that would be interesting.

I think the point was to have an Earth Alliance like government-society-etc develop in the place of the UFP in the Star Trek Universe.
Things would be immensely different. Obviously
Capitalism instead of Socialism and Communism.
Religion instead of Atheism.
Genuine Soldiers / Sailors / Marines rather than diplomats with phasers. And the alien civilizaitons within the space of the Earth Alliance? Alliances and the like would be formed but there wouldn't be this false and silly utopian hope of amalgamating whole species within the Earth Alliance. The Vulcans would be viewed as nothing more than athiestic human computers.
Military and galactic political changes? Too many to count. I can only hope that the EA would stomp all over the Klingons and Romulans. Why? There would only be one war with each race. They would be defeated and then made certain they would never make war upon the EA again.
At least, that is my hope.

My god are you that deprived? You do not know of the glory that is Babylon 5?what is babylon 5?
In all seriousness, it's probably one of the best sci-fi shows ever produced. Well written, well acted. It's story is set up as ongoing, interconnected fie year story. The acting is overall pretty good. Some truly exceptional performances from Mira Furlan (Delenn), Jerry Doyle (Garibaldi), Peter Jurasik (Londo Mollari) and Andreas Katsulas (G'kar), and Walter Koenig (Bester) <yes, he was Chekov>. An all around great show. Here's a link if you want to learn a lot more http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/.

With in a century the EA would be THE power in the Trek galaxy. Only the stupid, pacifist/commie/gutless coward mentality held them back from being a superpower. Considering how fast the UFP were able to become a major power once they got started, the EA would make the Alpha quadrant it's personal playground.
The EA wouldn't hold back like the federation did. They would push scientifically, militarily, and colonialy. The EA would expand as much as they could. And while they wouldn't intentionally start a war, they woudn't back down like the feddies either.
