Ah!
A basket! A handily placed bunch of baskets, right next to the new batch of Star Wars toys! How convenient!
After reading up to this point, I knew this couldn't possibly turn out well :D

I am thinking of picking up a few figures myself, namely various types of Clonetroopers or some Jedi characters.. but I've always wondered if there was a better-looking way to portray a lightsaber blade on a toy, so the Clonetroopers are a more likely proespect.

I hear you guys about the issue with articulation. Pretty poor play value, and it doesn't do anything to help the creativity of your displays either.
Sure, the old GI Joe 3½" figures didn't have pretty looking joints, but at least they had joints. I guess the best solution is to have articulated joints covered with actual fabric or some other flexible material, but that might be a bit difficult on anything smaller than an 8" or 12" figure.

A bar in the area had a contest for the barmaids offering a free "Toyota" to the one who sold the most beer in a month. Note that everything was said verbally ... so the lucky winner got a "toy Yoda." Lawsuits quickly followed.

More on topic, I just bought the ARC-170. It is pretty neat but missing the dorsal tail cannon.

Is that the Lego or the Hasbro ARC-170?

Amazon.com/ToysRUs.com site seem to act like it's available now, but I haven't seen it in stores yet.

I'm an action figure junkie, but its been many years since ive collected Star Wars figures(way back with Shadows of the Empire). I have however decided to get back in touch with the force and on my 25th birthday, got some gifts for myself thanx to the well stocked walmart.

Republic gunship
Speederbike with BARC trooper
Count Dooku
Obi-Wan
Clone Trooper
Royal Guard Red
Royal Gaurd Blue (I hear from my super collector bro-inlaw that both of these are kinda hard to get so get'em if you find um cuz you may never see them again)

and I shall order in a few days these Image

First off, Phongn, my hate for you is growing. Fear the Dark Side of toy collecting.

Second to Spongy Blue. I know the Red Guard is supposed to be rare. In fact, on opening night, my friend found the only one at a Wal Mart, and come to find out, they only had four at another Wal Mart and I have yet to see one. However, I have a Blue (which is cool, because I have two previous reds anyways from PotF II and AotC collections) and they are as numerous as any other figure.

Royal Guard Blue (aka Senate Guard) is rare? Shit, I'm glad I got one.

Anyway, I hit Toys R Us again today during lunch break, and got:

Star Wars Unleashed Stormtrooper (finally!)

Padme
C-3P0
R2-D2
Chewbacca
Bail Organa
Battle Droid
Super Battle Droid

I had actually picked up more:

Chancellor Palpatine
Kit Fisto
Agen Kolar
Shaak Ti
Plo Koon
Wookie Warrior
Tion Medon

But decided to put them back down since it just felt like too much money to spend in one go. As can be seen, with the exception of not buying Chancellor Palpatine (why, I've already got the Emperor) I pretty much finished my main character collection (as well as getting all the available "soldiers"). Maybe next time it'll be less-major Jedi time.

And I also got the free Toys R Us bonus Yoda.

I can't find the Red Royal Guard. It's pissing me off. Maybe I need to expand my search. The Hurstville Toys R Us doesn't have a comprehensive selection, or those aren't out in Australia yet, just like the various Clone Commanders ... (Bly, Bacara etc).

I've avoided the "deluxe" figures (e.g. Anakin which turns into Vader) and all them.

I actually ordered my favorite vehicle in the PT online yesterday. The Republic Gunship (LAAT). I promised myself I would get one, whether it be a model, a diecast vehicle, anything. Then I caught it online and for $29.99 thats a price I was very happy with. And now that its coming I'm wondering just where the hell am I going to put this thing? The 1 clone trooper per customer thing is fucking KILLING me.

I laught at you. Where are you getting your troopers? Price after shipping and everything, maybe some of us can pick a few up for you. I have right now, one Clone Trooper, one Clone Commander, and like three pilots. Two piloting the Gun Ship and one in Package. Also, as another poster has shown, they have trooper builder kits online. In fact the latest Toy Fare has several ads running through it.

Fuck I need a Clone Commander! Whole swathes of "late" Collection 1 and Collection 2 aren't available in Australia it seems- it can't be coincidence that the back of the packs of all the toys I have *only* has the ones that I've seen available.

Are there any Clone trooper figures armed with the DC-15 repeating blaster? The ones I see have a blaster rifle no larger than an E-11..

I forgot to mention. If there's anyone who collects the 1995-97 series vehicles and is need packaging let me know. I have the boxes for things like the A-Wing, Falcon, Luke's X-Wing, stuff like that and I need to get rid of them. Just let me know and I can send them to you. I'm keeping my vehicles, and they'll never be in a box again so it's either going to someone needing to finish up thier collection or the garbage.

They are so damned sweet. Love the shoulder pad additions and I find them to be far more poseable than some other figures (Anakin, Obi Wan, Vader are all ridiculously stiff) but surprisingly enough, Dooku has complete articulation in his legs which most of the figures do not.

Dooku's saber is also purple which is a tad annoying.

Right now I have only three clone troopers, trudging down to a few other spots to see if I can buy more because the Times Square ToysRUs has this stupid 1 trooper per customer rule is killing me. And I can't find any clone pilots at all. Its annoying as fuck and I can't find any online for reasonable prices anyway.

There is an army builder pack coming out for $32.99 with 4 clonetroopers but that isn't out yet.

Any suggestions where else to find clonetroopers online or otherwise?

I just rembered! I have an old, latex Yado hand puppet! It's about a foot tall, and the paint is worn, but it's orginal. So I guess that counts for something.

Both of them have ads in the Toy Fare. EE.com is boasting a clone pack that includes a white clean and a white battle damg. and two four packs of colored clones, one clean, one battle dmgd.

Many thanks Cal, looks like my one day at a time collection of clonetroopers will finally come to an end.

BTW the Gunship just sold out on Amazon.com. I bought it just in time.

Are we all going to look like asses in August when these toys can't be given away like what happened with Ep. I figures and toys?

I wouldn't really mind getting an Anakin, Vader, and Clonetrooper. But that's really about it. I was really turned off by the articulation, posing, and sculpting for the AotC line, and so didn't get any from that one.

How are the figures this time around in terms of those categories?
