Trekking off? You do know that the 'pleaseletitbeso' thing was a joke, right?VT-16 wrote:My god, you´re trekking off today. What is it with you and geonosians?
Yes, I was just a bit shocked at all the attention you were giving this one little thing.Trekking off? You do know that the 'pleaseletitbeso' thing was a joke, right?
Well, they could be overseeing things due to having a great deal to do with it´s internal workings. And spending hundreds of thousands of worker drones on dangerous jobs inside the superstructure sounds like typical Imperial behaviour, if you ask me. And I do like the idea of six feet tall bugs helping to design a planet-destroying battle station. Judge me by my wings, do you? And well you should not, for my ally is the Empire!I find the idea of Geonosians having, well, anything to do with the actual construction of the Death Star so very bizzare that it should not be gone with at all in any way shape or form.
Two years according to the DS:TM.Vympel wrote:It doesn't make a smidgen of difference in any respect.
That the Death Star was built in secret over many years is canon fact- ANH novelization. Upper limit for this construction is 19 years.
Didn't Shadows of the Empire definitively say it was 6 months?Vympel wrote:Second, the Death Star II took upper limit 3 years to get to it's 60% completion. And it was bigger.
The book is called the Death Star Technical Companion.FTeik wrote:Two years according to the DS:TM.Vympel wrote:It doesn't make a smidgen of difference in any respect.

Less, probably. Aside from the Maw installation prototype, there's also the Eye of Palpatine, which while not as large as the DS1, was nearly its equal in power generation (and traded the single big superlaser for lots of guns). And given what we see in ROTS, its quite possible that the "Death Star" we see in the movie will be nothing like the OT DS (its not as if the Tantive IV looks like the ANH Blockade Runner, after all.)Vympel wrote: That the Death Star was built in secret over many years is canon fact- ANH novelization. Some care because there's only so much a certain "argument" can be expected to excuse, ,apparently. I've seen suggestions for a good many multiple prototypes existing before the "final" DS we see in the movies.I just don't get why any of you care.
