New idea for a Star Wars story

Post by Cal Wright »

Alright, I had this idea strike me.

I love the speeder bikes. The swoops, pod racers partly, and that new BARC is kick ass. I've constantly wanted to incorporate the speeder bikes in new ways into many of my fan fictions I used to do. Even going so far as to figure out how to make a ship big enough that they could zip down it's hallways. (Crazy.)

Then it struck me. Make a story that really revolves around the speeder bikes and riders. Take the basics we have now. Speeder Bikes, Swoops, the BARC, sort of work with repulsor tech and go from there. Design all types of speeder bikes. I'll take inspiration from the bikes I work around. Even though with just the Swoop and Speeder, you sort of cover cruiser and sport bikes. There's still other versions and different options to go with. Then I started thinking of a name for the stories. Even as much as I hate Harley's, the one name that kept kick me in the ass was Hell's Angels. Then I thought, fuck that. Then I started to warp the name, and came up with Star Wars: Dark Demons. I feel I struck gold with this idea. I feel it would make some great fan fiction.

I've already got some sketches of head shots for a main character, whether he be good or bad. Also I have designed a light mace. A regular ball and chain with one striking feature. The ball itself has emmitters all around it instead of spikes. Obviously, here using the activation buttons on the handle, will ignite the emmitters and have small light spikes all around.

Even though I probably shouldn't be tossing these ideas just out there, I figured what the hell since it's in league with Star Wars fan fiction, and wanted to see what everyone else thought.

The idea of delving into the dark, fast-paced world of SW biker jocks could be amusing if you're into the real thing. Frankly, I don't like the lightmace; it seems dangerous, impractical and wholly unnecessary.

For a mace/flail type weapon in the SW universe I would suggest something less lightsaber and more coupling beam related. Like whatever kept the pod racers' engines tethered together? You could use that and give your weapon the ability to extend and ensnare targets as well as clobber them. You could use vibrospikes instead of emmitters too.

Swoop gangs are a mainstay of the EU.

WEG's Fragments From The Rim feature several of them: the Skulls, led by sociopathic Jeng Seth and their rivals, the Knights led by the idealistic Finegan Flint, both in the Hook Nebula; and vicious and mysterious Bloodsniffers of the Quence Sector.

I'd like to see more of your idea for a Hells' Angels-type swoop gang, I'd have them use regualr flails made of starship and droid parts they scavenge rather than a "lightmace" weapon though.
