Ooh, Summoner 2. I have the Cube version of that game. Decent rpg, I think. Still haven't beaten it. Fuck you, Tempest. Sure, he only has 9800 hp, less than Rosalind. But the fucker has powerful attacks, and worse yet, my 120+ potions were destroyed earlier by Surdama Kir. Can't cast spells; they take too long. Scrolls apparently don't do squat. Which means the only thing I can do is to stand at the bridge and strafe back and forth with Maia-Iari's energy blast.
A man claiming to be Urath visits Maia in a dream, which suggests that Joseph did ascend to godhood. On the other hand, in that same dream Maia talks to Rosalind, when by that time she should already have become a demon.
And before I forget again, I hate Gyorg from Majora's Mask. Hate hate hate hate hate. No lie, I used 3 fairies on the bastard, still almost lost.

FFX was pretty easy with summons. Anima & Bahamut are both able to kill pretty quick. Yojinbo should be very effective in this fight.2000AD wrote:Seymour in FFX, not even the end end boss but it was the first time you fight him after killing him in the Ice place.
He just cast petrify and then straight away the little floaty thing with him would attack and shatter the stone dude before i got a chance to do anything.

Arrow/Boomerang, followed by Zora torpedo. I'm fine until I hit Gyorg with the Zora torpedo, because then I have to get back onto the platform before he eats me, and I keep fucking up. I tried the swim-to-platform-then-climb-up method; Gyorg knocks me back into the water before I'm safe. I also tried the dolphin trick. Kept getting the distance or angle wrong and smacking into the platform rather than landing on it.
And I just remembered something. I nominate Ridley. Before anyone starts flaming me, I'm not talking about the badass Metroid 3 Ridley, or the slightly less badass but better looking Meta-Ridley. I'm talking about Metroid 0. Utter disappointment. Sure, he looks better than Metroid 3 Ridley, but he's so easy to kill! Only when I'm going for the <15% item endings does he offer any challenge, but that's only because one hit will kill me.

The mid-boss in Sol Titanyan's stage from MMZ4 (see my thread about the game).
ARGH!
It's a big crystal surrounded by eight mechaniroids, each of which take maybe two charged Z-Saber swipes to kill. All of them are rapid-firing at you, and if you somehow manage to survive the constant barrage, the core starts shooting clockwise NON-STOP. And it takes a further five or six charged Z-Saber slashes.

The third Hell hunter on Doom 3 Ressurection of evil.
To take his invincablility away you have to take out one of the reactors which are sheilded, so you have to wait 15 minutes before being able to SCRATCH this guy.
Also the final boss on Mega Man Legends 2, she teloports around and uses attacks that are vigorusly hard to dodge, you have to use every drop of ammo to kill her and once you do she has a second form which is three times as hard to kill and your out of ammo by then, and out of health powerups. Oh yes and to get there you have to beat every other boss in the game.

Jesus, Sara was a nightmare to fight on the highest difficulty levels. Her shockwave attack that turned up the gravity and created those mines, her micro-singularity that sucked you in place, that giant beam she fired - death, ay and all of them, within one or two hits.R.O.A wrote:Also the final boss on Mega Man Legends 2, she teloports around and uses attacks that are vigorusly hard to dodge, you have to use every drop of ammo to kill her and once you do she has a second form which is three times as hard to kill and your out of ammo by then, and out of health powerups. The Zelos/Ramirez battles at the end of Skies of Arcadia. The first one was fine, the second one takes about a half hour, and then the last one takes 5 minutes after the game spends a long ass time building him up for the third and last fight. The only thing he has going for him is the insta-kill things, but Ramirez really isn't that much stronger than he was before Zelos ate him.

My entry for the Old Skool Category:
The last Dr Wily from MegaMan 2. You beat the first two Dr Wilys, drop down the acid cave, come face to face with the last version and realize that you are out of bubblelead. Who designs a final boss to be vulnearable to only one weapon, especially the one weapon that you use constantly in the final stage? Capcom, thats who.
So annoying the first time when you try unloading every other weapon and realize that you are SOL because you have no bubblelead. I wanted to dropkick my Nintendo out of the window the first time this happened to me.
Most arcade action game bosses are pretty annoying as well (Shredder from TMNT, Magneto from the first XMEN arcade game).
Edit: Grammer

Damn skippy. For me, the Grim Reaper before Dracula in Castlevania was the harder of the two. I could never get past him until the emulation era of save and restore.NeoGoomba wrote: Dracula in Castlevania 1. And every boss in the latter half of Castlevania 3.

Sephiroth is doable in the high 60s, getting to him is the hard part. You can skip all the sidequests and crap too. Fight SOLDIER 2nd Class at the airfield in Junon. Good EXP, and they drop X potions so you can stay there all day. You'll have three characters to 99 in no time, at which point you can literally just attack him to death. Seriously.2000AD wrote:Sephiroth in FF7: No one bothered to tell me that i needed to do every single side quest to get good enough to kill him. Yeah, but then he gets triple health, so stopping at about ninety is probably a good idea...Darth Raptor wrote:Sephiroth is doable in the high 60s, getting to him is the hard part. Jedi Outcast was a bit anticlimactic, you go through all the trouble of going through a load of cool traps to meet Desann, and in the end, force speed, full powered force lightning and a couple of strokes on heavy stance and the guy was dead. Real let down.
Jedi Academy was an improvement in that I actually had to work to win the last battle.

alternatively, you could simply spend time beating all the Weapons and sephy will be cake.Darth Raptor wrote:Sephiroth is doable in the high 60s, getting to him is the hard part. yeah, of course you fight against a true Sith lord(during the last part that is), not failed Jedi student who thinks too highly of himself.Jedi Academy was an improvement in that I actually had to work to win the last battle.

I had trouble with the Boost Guardian too, but that was before I figured out that it chases you in blob mode. Before I would try to roll towards it and drop bombs and I'd always take major damage, but the time I beat it I just rolled away. I don't think it touched me once.
Don't hate; appreciate!

Pretty much all the bosses in FFX-2 so far (just finished Chapter 2). Myabe I'm overlevelled from doing sidequests, but Rikku as a Black Mage is just torching every boss she sees, while Alchemist Yuna and White Mage Paine keep her alive and casting.

Lucifer from Painkiller... Damn, it took me two weeks until managing to kick his ass... Then I found out that, in order to see the real ending, you had to end the game in the hardest mode (can't remember how it's called now). Hell if someone can convince me to try to kick Lucifer's ass again! Not that I think that I could anyway

The entire final level of Darius Twin on the SNES
In addition to the game speed being suddenly doubled, every enemy in the level (with the exception of one rather annoying type that comes from behind in random spots, preventing turtle tactics) are opponents who were used for Mini-bosses in previous levels. These aren't hard on their own, but when they just keep coming in swarms of 2-5, and take so many hits to kill, it really wears you down. And then, of course, the final boss has plenty of cheap attacks that are almost impossible to avoid, and a weak spot that's only able to be hit at certain times.

I just something I have not done in literally years. I just threw my controller to the ground out of pure frustration. I take extremely good care of everything I have now, but just like when I was a kid I chunked it at the floor and watched it rebound into things. Not only that it was my black GC controller. All over the spider ball boss. Holy crap, as much as I love Metroid Prime and have enjoyed Metroid Prime 2, I seriously believe they put little to no thought on the practicalness of thier bosses in this game. This one is just pure shit. After the boost ball guardian where your always taking damage, the Grapple and the Dark Visor boss took an incrediable LOONG time to have to sit and fight, the Spider Ball guardian has to be puzzeled and lucked out. By luck I mean, the point that in this game the ledges are just so that using the one bomb is almost impossible. God forbid if you've got to get out in a hurry. Before anyone yells use the three bomb jump method, that ain't cutting it here. Your in tiny Samus in ball form sized tunnels. So much time to get to the ledge with the bomb slot, and you've got to try and line up your bomb shot to get up there. GRRRR!!! I feel I ain't finishing this game, which is pitiful. I'm not asking for easier boss's, just something more practical.
