Take the jobs...there are worse...and hell jobs usually are never the things we love...usually just something to pay rent.

Most of the times it's a bonus if we get a job we truly love in the early wage slave times

What are your opinions on it? I have an interview tomorrow for a telemarketing place. I know they be evil...very evil....but it means a LOT of money. I mean, I will be MAKING BANK. $7/hr to START, and it goes up to $8/hr after training, with the potential to be making up to $15/hr. Now, if you were in my position, what would you do? Take the job (yes, I will take the job if I can), or try to find a lesser evil (is fast food really a lesser evil?)...?

All this heat from people on the board for 7 or 8 bucks an hour? What other benefits are we talking about here? Health, Dental, Stock options, bonuses? 15 bucks is good if this is some kind of part time job while you are in school, but I think that is all smoke and mirrors anyway. After how many years? After how many people you piss off while interupting them during the early morning hours will you get promoted to 15 dollars an hour? Or is it per death threat?

After 7-8 Months. And no early mornings. THe earliest is 8AM, and the latest is 11PM.

That is if you are still there after 7-8 months, and I still do not think they would pay you that much anyway. Just sounds like they are making it more enticing for you to work there. I am willing to bet there are only a few people that actually get paid 15 + and those people probably been there forever and their nerves are worn down to inflamed nubs.

Maybe so. But I was at the movie thatre for over a year, and it was my first job. And I was used to getting insulted right and left, getting cut off while trying to say something...

No way. 6$ an hour on a standard work week is only 240$. Same goes for 15$ an hour which comes to 600$. ANd your rent is over half of that! I hope you have roommates because working from paycheck to paycheck is never fun. It is best to have a friend to move in with.

She got paid biweekly...after taxes, its about $400 every two weeks, and $800 a month. Plenty enough.

Everything here is per month, not per week.

I would *highly* advise you to look for another job after you get this one started (or even now). Telemarketing is nothing but presure sales, and you don't want to be doing that too long...(even though some people can)

As far as I know, you wont have any direct control who yuou are calling. My current information indicates that you will be dealing with an automated system (which is illegal ) that is making the outbound calls.

I did it once, I was fired after they relised I was prefacing my calls so they went like this

Normaly they hung up somwhere during my little speech or right after

Actually that might make me more inclined to listen to you because of the humor/honesty. If I answered my phone that is.
