Wellton paced angrily in his office on Deneb, he'd just come from another Commision meeting, another complete waste of time, and he needed to burn off some of the angry energy he'd been holding in.

The Gorn loyalists were convinced that the Leadership Council should just give up power and return to doing what there betters told them to do. And for some reason msot of the other commision members seemed to want to go along with it, ah hell he could be honest to himself, they didn't just want to go along with it they were encouraging it.

He had yet to hear one propsal for any kind of compromise from anyother Commision member, but they were all ready to instantly dismiss and criticize any proposal brought forward. He had no idea what they thought they were accomplishing, other then wasting time and possibly making themselves feel important.

If he couldn't report some kind of progress to Weeichman soon he didn't think he'd have this position for much longer.

While captain Ter'ao was making his communique to his higher-ups tarkin sat there, almost staring down the Elysian Captain. The man had totally infuriated him when he sat there and made a major descision that could decide political standings for their two peoples without even considering the ramifications!

He reached across the table to pick up his fine Crystal-ware cup filled with a wonderful green Vineberry ale when he got a communique over his wristcomm.

Code: Select all

Admiral Tarkin, we are reading two tightband transmissions from the surface. One is very weak, the other is blatantly obvious. We were in the understanding that there was only one captain making a transmission.
he typed back.

Code: Select all

The source?

Code: Select all

Unknown, but we can localize it to about 20 feet from where you are standing.

Code: Select all

Well then how about the recipient?

Code: Select all

Got it, sir... its the Elysian vessel. And its doubtful that captain ter'ao is sending simulataneous transmission to a vessel that only made contact with them a few days ago and personal contact just hours ago.

Code: Select all

Understood, activate comms jammers, block any transmissions on that frequency.

Code: Select all

Aye sir, blocking now.
What was sinclair playing at? Was he TRYING to get thrown in prison for spying? Was he truly this foolish? He hoped not to have an intergalactic incident on his hands. But before he showed his hand in the matter, he would wait for sinclairs reaction. As per the demands of his current situation, he called the kitchen and ordered lunch to be brought in as soon as Captain Ter'ao was finished calling his superiors.

Morevonia, somewhere nice and quiet

Captain Ter'ao took his earpiece off, and laid it on the table he was sitting at. After a little bit of fiddling, a little holographic screen flickered into existence above it, the Maka-Diyos' logo visible.

"Commander? Patch me through to Command, would you? And while you're at it, bounce the signal off of a half dozen of the listening posts, just to be sure"

"Command already, sir? What did you do?"

"I hate it when you leap to conclusions, Commander."

They didn't get much further, when the screen's display changed to that for the SCA proper, various encryption information flicking up everyone and then, as the Maka-Diyos did the interstellar equivalent of ringing home. Eventually it changed again, to the image of Fleet Admiral Kun'lan sitting at his desk.

"Ah, our young ambassador. We weren't expecting to get a report quite so soon. What can I do for you?"

"This sisn't quite a report, sir, but I need your assistance here. Our hosts have given us propositions for a trade agreement, followed by a military agreement. I'm not sure how to respond to this. It's very sudden, I can't help but feel."

"Yes, but perhaps this is their way of doing things? Still, I don't see the harm in the trade agreement. Your ship got there safely, I don't see why trade could be much of a problem, though we'd need to perhaps add a bigger aux plant in the merchant ships for the distance involved.
Hm. Tell them we'd be glad to accept the trade agreement, providing we can get a decent system map. We don't want to lose any ships in collisions now.
As for the military situation... Our ships are designed for local policing and quick strikes, not heavy combat. But, it would tie us into a good technological boost. Hm.
...
The Admiralty and the government shall have to discuss this. Tell your host that we are considering it."

"Very good, sir. I'll report in again later"

The screen flicks back to the Maka-Diyos' logo as the admiral signs out, before the Commander re-appears on screen.

"Anything to report up there?"

"We've had some of the local civilian traffic coming a bit close, but nothing overly interesting. Looks like our friends are powering up quietly though. We'd hardly noticed until we took a good look at the numbers. Anything happen down there?"

"I think that Captain Sinclair may have been a little... blunt, perhaps. I'd guess they're just getting ready incase they have to leave.
Before they do, signal them in my name, tell them that if they'd like to have a formal meeting with us, stick around in Feroina for a while."

"Rodger that sir. We look forward to your next update"

---
Diplomatic-meeting-place-thing, Morevonia

"Ah, admiral? I've been told to inform you that we will be willing to open up an embassy and to approve the trade agreement, if you'll send us a star map of the area. We don't want our ships jumping out inside asteroids, really.
As for the military agreement, you may have to wait. This is our first situation like this, so the govenment is going to have to debate the pros and cons. I hope this isn't inconvenient for you?"
According to wikipedia, "the Mohorovičić discontinuity is the boundary between the Earth's crust and the mantle."
According to Starbound, it's a problem solvable with enough combat drugs to turn you into the Incredible Hulk.

"That's wonderful news captain, we can give you a navmap straight to our space from your space. And we will have the embassies built within the day. We also hope you get word from your command within the day. And now to the newest matter at hand, Lunch. I do hope you like Traladon, its a bit spicy but it should fit both your tastes and biology."

To the UTR Department of State

The Patriarch has followed with displeasure the proceedings of the negotiations for the resolution of the Gorn question. His military assistance was invaluable in your efforts against the Gorn, and His expeditionary fleet and army still maintain their support positions. This is done at considerable monetary expense to His government, not to mention the sacrifices of the many heroes who fell during the engagements. The Patriarch has done this without any expectation of recompense for His services; rather, it has been rendered as a favor from one ally to another.

However, the course of the negotiations between the PLC and Loyalists greatly annoys the Patriarch. He has found in His examination of the bargaining that His forces have been detained in order to help secure the establishment of popular government over the Gorn. Should this ideology of democracy, wholly alien to the Patriarch's understanding of leadership and indeed threatening to the very ideals of His race, be deemed sufficient reason to maintain our forces in a distant land? Indeed not.

The Patriarch thus expresses His desire that the negotiations in Gorn be concluded speedily with all necessary compromises made, else He will order the return of His armies and fleets forthwith.

Aboard Aeolus, in low, convenient orbit over Morevonia.

Isis watches the signal suddenly break up, and she sits up straight. "Send a message to sigint, what the hell was that? EWO?" the young officer directs.

"It looks like specific band jamming of our individual fiber-cam frequency. I don't think we can do anything about it from up here, ma'am."

Isis relaxes forward. "TachDrive Status?" she directs to the engineer, snapping off another order to her comms officer in the CIC. "If we can't raise contact again in five minutes, send a signal home saying we've lost contact with the captain.

She finally relaxes forward, head towards the holodisplay before her, Lieutenant Commander Hornblower shaking her head. "It would seem that these people are clearly..."

***

...hiding something? They're moving too fast. Military alliance... technology transfers... map exchanges... trade agreements... and with two nations they have not one iota of information on.

Captain Marcus Sinclair turns his head just slightly as there's a slight buzzing in his earpeice, a soft voice indicating that the signal from space was lost. Sinclair's brow furrows, turning back to Ter'ao. "Well, hrm. I'll need to keep a note to myself that when I can contact my ship... that we should formally establish relations as well. "

The Elysian captain walks over, taking a seat casually as the meal is served. "Oh, it looks like it'll sit quite well. Hrm. Maybe your chefs could give mine some lessons. If you know... I wasn't being so rudely jammed as of now." he says, eyes firmly affixed on Tarkin. He breaks a little grin and comments with a casual shrug. "No offense taken, of course. I mean, I always greet guests with electronic warfare."

The elysian had called his bluff. Now it was time to show his hand.

"Well captain sinclair, you see we dont want your bridge crew to hear anything sensitive to the defense of the Thirteen. Now if you wanted to record the proceedings you could have asked first, but of course you chose to do it in a secretive matter. Now we would be happy to restore your comm channel if you would tell your crew to power down her tach drives afterwords. Of course until they do we wont accept your sincerity on any matter."

Now it was time to truly give why they were supposedly hiding something.

"The Thirteen Republics is very interested in having allies. We have inferred agression from larger powers for a while. Quite honestly we feel that the more allies we have the safer we are and thus we have contacted many powers. Most recently your two powers."

he paused a moment before continuing.

"We feel that in the case of a intergalactic war only a large alliance can survive. We understand that you may have misgivings on the matter but I asure you, this is no double edged sword. I am also saddened that you, captain sinclair, immediately denounced our offer without even considering it!"

He waved to an attendee.

"Commander have the crews shut down the comm jam to the Elysian vessel."

He looked back at Sinclair.

"This is a show of good faith captain. Dont mistreat it."

Inside the docking bay, a honor guard of 6 marines, and a pair of droids settled down, while Petrach awaited beyond the docking bay doors, the bay hasn't been used in months, and the smell is quite strong.
Ambassador Bregorin descended the ramp of the Nashtari diplomatic shuttle. The smell of old lubricants and parts assaulted his nostrils as he descended to the deck, but he kept his expression neutral as he inclined his head towards the waiting Petrach. "Greetings. I am Ambassador Bregorin, representative of the Republic of Nashtar. You requested an audience with our government, and I am here to serve." He stood, evidently waiting to be led somewhere else to begin talks as his various aides followed him down the ramp.

Petrach was visably annoyed, after fighting together, they were sent some flunky.

"Welcome aboard the Galactic, let me escort you to our DNP room, these marines will stay and guard the shuttle, formalities..."

Without waiting for an answer, Petrach turned around, and began walking quickly across the Hanger, into an small door and from there on, into the ship, slowly moving from bare technical walls to grandoise Old Age styling and into a massive dining room that smelled like it was just manufactured.

Turning around, he saw that Ambassador Bregorin had followed him, Petrach sat down and prepered the datacard.

"So, now that we're here, first, we wish to thank the Republic of Nashtar for the help it has givin the Aglatarian Hub, and we have the following list of ideas for you to consider:

* Opening of full trade relationships between the Republic of Nashtar and the Aglatarian Hub.

* Building a joint station on the hyperspace route from the Imperium to the 6th Cruiser Squadron, at the possible junction to NRS space.

* Formal mutal self-defense treaty.

We are willing to list the benefits to each offer, and would agree to any offers the Republic of Nashtar has to say

So, what say you?"

Chaos in the Thirteen!

Strife and factionalization is erupting in the nation known as the Thirteen in the Galactic West today, as the loss of their head of state has rapidly degraded into all-out war after disagreements about the succession erupted into a full on brawl in the highest houses of government.

Corsair Republic Dispatches Peacekeeping Forces.

Vowing to restore order to the Galactic West once more, a large force of Alliance vessels were spotted joining known spacelanes at flank speed. The Corsairs have invited members of the Western nations to observe the peacekeeping efforts, in an effort to strengthen diplomatic ties during this strained time.

Western Space
Sabai Territory
Sabai

The chaos in the thirteen had not been anticipated and even the Eye seemed to have been caught by surprise at the developments. The collapse seemed to come out of the blue, its arrival immediately affecting the weave of probabilities present and future throughout the western space. The Eye concentrated its power on that area of space, closely inspecting the situation before offering its recommendation. The swift actions of the Corsair Republic were not overlooked. Many considered them being drawn to the area like sharks drawn to freshly wounded prey, although their exact intentions were not known.

The Sabai leadership met in council and debated thoroughly as to what if anything should be done in this particular matter. The location of the thirteenth was of central importance to the Sabai. The West was of interest to them, and keeping it free and clear of potential adversaries was of outmost importance. The ERTC and the Sabai were linked commercially, and the heart of the ERTC was the TSC. The TSC and the Sabai nation had agreed upon a set of terms that were beneficial for both nations. However, the Sabai saw the ERTC as potentially more than simply a trade agreement. The likelihood that the ERTC or the Entente nations would take an active role in this problem was low, but it was not zero. It was the opinion of the Sabai that western problems, remain western problems. As such, a decision was made.

With the fourth fleet in its entirety located somewhere to the galactic south west, it fell to elements of the third fleet to carry out the will of the Sabai. These elements left Sabai controlled territory and merged into western hyper lanes. They were not trying to be stealthy, they were trying to get to the target as quickly as possible. Even as the warships of the Sabai were inbound to their destination, an upper level Sabai representative prepared a conference informing the galaxy at large of Sabai intentions. Sabai forces were moving to former thirteen territories in order assist with peacekeeping efforts and answer the call of assistance of the western nation the Corsair Republic.

The arrangement between the Sabai and the Corsair Republic was immediately brought to question, and answered in the usual fashion. The Sabai were pleased by Corsairs efforts to combat piracy efforts in their region of space. When the reasoning behind the moves of the Corsair Republic and the Sabai were questioned, the Sabai representative had this to say. “The Sabai like the Corsair Republic shares in the desire to maintain peaceful and close ties with other western nations; It is our belief that the collapse of the former thirteen can be best handled by its immediate neighbors. It is the desire of the Sabai to bring peace and stability to the region.”

When pressed if the Sabai would accept direct assistance from nations such as the Sparata, the ACIN and the Stuart Corporation and other western nations the representative had a simple response. “Of course.”

Stuart Space, Avalon Prime

A fleet, led by the Battle Carrier Dragon's Nest, vanished into nothingness, speeding towards the late Republic of Thirteen.

Specially encoded messages were sent out to the other members of the Western pact, the Corsair and Sabai, as well as an open-channel communique.

There would be no use sending part of the Solidarity's fleet to grasp at the assets of Nua erstwhile ally. Fleets from other nations far closer to the fallen Republic had already launched precious minutes ago.

Let the wolves snap over the corpse, thought Nua. We do not need any new territory! We are strong enough already!

He began to laugh, but then heard the silent drone of the Solidarity in his mind.

<<Sterilization of Colony 95 complete. 99.8% of infestion eradicated. Proceed to next planet?>>

Silently, the Solidarity once again winked into Hyperspace.

Morevonia, Hellhole of the West.

Captain Sinclair doesn’t even have the time to snap off a witty retort when the hall shakes with a deep, low rumbling. His entourage moves back, standing together and looking around.

“Ah. Tell me that was routine.” He quips, before an I-beam lands through the ceiling, smashing the table in half. The food is smashed quiet thoroughly. “…Deus didn’t like the cornbread either.” He adds, before the technical advisor starts tugging his suit’s arm, pulling as the team runs for the landing pad. More explosions sound through the hall blasting a passage. A blinding green beam emerges from space, slicing and carving the hall. Admiral Tarkin of the Thirteen Republics stands and watches in horror, before being shattered into many messy pieces, all of them quite dead. The junior lieutenant at his side pulls at the captain. “Whatever is happening, we need to raise Aeolus! Let’s just keep moving…”

***

Lieutenant Commander Isis Hornblower watches in horror as the battlestation Borodin begins to open fire on the planet, striking out against it’s own capitol. The commander’s eyes widen through the visual image of the planet below, weapons blasting from the surface into orbit and fire returning… a sudden outbreak of chaos and violence engulfing the system.

“Exec, Tactical! What’re they doing? Pull aside, all ships engage thrust. Get us combat velocity. Sensors, get me a contact list now! Identify all ships firing…” she stares into the newly generated holographic representation of the battle, her squadron’s ships pulling from the station… as the planetary defense fleet is now apparently at war with itself. The ship buckles with a broadside from a nearby cruiser, bright turbolaser blasts smashing into the displacement field without effect.

Hunched in a pit of displays and holograms, a suited officer responds. “Tactical, Exec, port displacement grid down twenty one percent. It looks like there’s a hyperspace entry on system perimeter, and… part of their fleet is going rogue. Permission to engage?” Isis hardly hesitates, her own hands running along the terminal to offer target priorities, her Xaser batteries warming up over the hull and broadside of the ship.

“Granted! Take down anything even remotely targeting the squadron. Give me a kinetic torpedo salvo into that battlestation... now.” Isis braces herself on the captain’s station. “All hands, secure helmets! Action stations! Get me Colonel Phyleus...”

***

Keeping in a slightly drawn back ‘claw’ formation, the five warships turn in a slow arc. Particle beam and graser blasts lance outwards, blasting into the defense ships in a choreographed dance of space combat. The first offending cruiser’s reactor is punched clean through by a particle beam at almost visual range, the ship exploding in an aquamarine burst.

Emerging from the battlecruiser and her squadron, a full swarm of barely-visible silver kinetic kill missiles accelerate on their gravimetric drives to point nine c rapidly. Like silver darts, one missile after another impact the massive station at effectively point blank, catching the station with her shields down. The kinetic energies involved rend a signifigant fraction of the station apart in instants, the rest of the once-capable bastion descending fatally into the atmosphere. Poor Morevonia, soon to suffer great catastrophe.

Amid the chaos of the brawl and from the orderly ship squadron, a flight of Typhoon interceptors emerge from the portside hangar of Aeolus, escorting a pair of armed dropships descending for the capital planet. They had people down there, darnit. Deus willing, the Elysians wouldn’t just leave them behind.

Isis Hornblower watched with a sigh as the rescue group deployed, fastening her own clear clearplas helmet tight to her suit. Black gloves grip the chrome rail around her station. Her eyes focus on the newest target targetting her. Thirteen Kilometers. Dozens of weapon signatures. A strangely familiar wedge shape...

"Holy fracking hades. Tactical, I want shrapnel from that for the captain for when we pick him up. All ships, flank ahead!"

Subject: INVITATION: Christening of Blue Pointe Station

On behalf of both the Blue Order and the ACIN, I would like to personally extend my hand in thanks to all those who have helped to see through the completion of Blue Pointe Station in record time. With Blue Pointe Station now complete, I invite you to send a representative to the station for a formal christening, signifying it’s rebirth from the ashes of the Cataclysm. Starting on this we begin a new era in galactic history, one marked by peace and prosperity the likes of which have not been seen since before the fall of the great galactic civilization millennia ago.

The West has shown a remarkable ability to work together, civility and benevolence all nations have these common characteristics. Your wisdom and cooperation will do much to rejuvenate this sector of the galaxy. The Christening of Blue Pointe Station is a historic moment, brought about through a show of unparalleled prudence and foresight on behalf of those involved. While not directly associated with the construction of Blue Pointe Station, I ask that the Corsair Republic join us, their forethought and good sense, along with that of the many other nations of the west, most importantly the Sabai and the Stuart Corporation, have helped to prevent serious discord in the galactic west. Blue Pointe Station is the first step towards a bright future, one which has been made possible by much hard work and cooperation on the part of all those involved.

Each nation has done it’s part in making the new trade lanes safe, truly commendable! Historically such an undertaking on simple good faith is unheard of; continued support nigh unimaginable. Yet it is true, at this very moment ships from nations all over the Western Galactic Rim patrol the space lanes, no documents signed, no treaties written. This achievement, while magnificent in its own right, must stand the test of time. Time, as we know very well, can be cruel however. To this end, I shall present all nations with an agreement, one which shall assure the continued progress and prosperity of the galactic west.

Please join myself and ACIN representatives at Blue Pointe Station; Peace and Good Health be with you.

Signed,

Signed,

Aquaria, capital of the Kingdom of Aquarius

"Three minutes have elapsed, Admiral. Most of the enemy vessels are not responding to our hail or complying with our orders; several are attempting to get out of the interdiction field."

"Very well, then. Open a channel."

"Yes, Admiral."

Admiral Dominent went to the comms station and spoke. "Aquarian vessels, the time limit has elapsed. Those who have not powered down will be destroyed." He cut off the open channel and turned back to face the bridge. "Weapons free, launch all fighters. If a ship powers down and surrenders, it is to be secured and boarded. Those that continue to resist are to be reduced to scrap."

Morevonia, It's where it's at

Following the example of Captain Sinclair, Ter'ao decides that discretion is indeed the better part of valour, and legs it to the shuttlebay, noncoms in tow.

"Captain Sinclair! If we get out of this alive, how about we meet up in Feroina again? At least we seem able to get on, eh?"

---Meanwhile, cunningly hidden within the Elysian formation...

For the crew of the Maka-Diyos, being in the middle of a full-blown war is a new thing indeed. So much, infact, that for much of the opening salvoes, they remained within the claw formation of the Elysian ships, trying very hard not to be noticed. However, as the Triumph lumbered into view, Commander Nart'el decided on his plan of action.

Code: Select all

Elysian vessels, if you can cover us until we've got the captain back and our drives have charged, I think I have an idea...
"Target that thing's bridge and get ready to fire the main gun. This'll give them something to talk about."

"Sir, do you think we'll get through their shields?"

"Does that thing look like a station?"

"No sir, it's bigger than the usual one's we've hit."

"Right. Bugger. Ah well, it can't do them any good."

Code: Select all

Elysian vessels, be warned, main cannon discharging towards hostile command ship's bridge module, stand clear. Repeat, stand clear of command ship's bridge module
As the Maka-Diyos turns towards the Triumph, it's inertial dampers ramp up their protection to somewhat above their typical limits while the drives ready for maximum burn. Finally, as the entire ship ends up in alignment with it's target, a little green light lights up on the bridge

"Main Gun control, fire when ready."

For an instant, an orange bolt travelling at .9c connects the Maka-Diyos and the Triumph's bridge section. Then, both of them vanish in a white flare. In the case of the Maka-Diyos, it's because it's being hurled back at a fairly high speed by the recoil and it's engines are trying very hard to counter this. In the case of the Triumph, it's because a frankly ungodly amount of energy has been dumped into it's shield grid and hull.

On the Maka-Diyos, the sound of the engine burn is filling the ship, and the lighting's down to emergency levels as the main sensor grid comes back online.

"Do you think we got them?!"

"Can't tell! The fireball's gonna be there for quite some time!"

"Right, screw recharging the gun, use that power to charge up the jump drives!"

"Roger that!"[/code]

Morevonia, second greatest hive of scum and villany…

EFS Aeolus shudders violently, emerald lances raking across her flickering displacement fields. A few stray turbolaser bolts connect with her escorts as well, not slowing down their attempt to accelerate past the Triumph.

“XO--Sensors, Maka-Diyos is trying to keep formation. She’s powering her forward armament… update! explosion on target… command tower destroyed.”

Isis Hornblower smirked slightly, softly murmuring sarcastically. “They stole my kill,” she looks down to her holographic view, before her head snaps towards the tactical station. “Tactical, signal squadron to alpha strike at that ship’s aft section, target their engines and let’s pull around for gravity-whip intercept of our rescue party.”

The CIC shudders briefly as another blast hits it’s displacement fields, this time a fraction of the turbolaser’s energy penetrating and striking amidships.

“All stations reporting in. Standard firing pattern, mass cannons charged. Commencing Alpha Strike.”

Swinging the ship about to face forwards, the battlecruiser opens up her armament on the far larger ship, squadron following suit. Across Aeolus’s white-and-blue hull first is the flash of a silver cloud leaving box-like launchers and tubes imbedded in the hull, missiles streaking through space on gravimetric drive. Her powerful turrets begin then to open up with the brilliant red pulses of particle cannons, smashing into the command ship’s partially activated shield grid. Followed up by blasts of graser fire, her own brilliant beams carving deeply into the armor.

“Hard turn to planet! Maintain lateral momentum, maximum thrust.” Isis adds with a relaxed sigh, the dropships visible ahead. A pair of fighters with it seem to be missing from it’s formation, a fact attributable to the ground fire lancing up in confusion at any target.

The battle is fierce as the small group coasts for rendevous, ships buckling and then popping with their atmospheres spilling into the void. A missile from the surface pulls against the tug of gravity, seeking it’s prey... one of the two transports. A fighter pulls back with a jerkupwards, using the atmospheric drag to throw it back. Curling forward from it’s maneuver, her lasers open up against the projectile. Carved apart, it explodes near the dropship… blast throwing the dropship forward as it escapes the atmosphere, bits of her tail assembly falling back to the planet.

Pulling away for deep space, Isis types in a communiqué for her companion ship.

Code: Select all

--- Thank you for the assist. We’ll have them in a moment. We’re going to leave this mess… and maybe we can at least get something productive done there. ---
Her screen shifts back to a view of the planet... zooming in. A parting gift was now entering the lower atmosphere, the station Borodin falling through atmosphere towards the planet, a five-kilometer wide artificial extinction level asteroid. It is joined by the pride of the republican navy, Triumph becoming a dagger-like projectile falling towards the capitol city. Why is that strangely familiar? She relaxes back, shaking her head. Her train of thought is halted by an interruption from the Deck Chief’s voice crackling in.

“They’re aboard. Captain looks injured… the other diplomat’s alright, and most of our people are here. We’ve lost three fighters, Commander. Can we bail now?”

Commander Hornblower slides a hand through her hair, rubbing her eyes gently. “Take us out of here. Engage Tach-drive.”

Morevonia. The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!

As the Elysian fleet jumps out, the Maka-Diyos is briefly left alone while it's jump drives power up. Unfortunately, some of the home side have taken objection to it decapitating their command ship, and numerous turbolasers hammer the relatively little ship. Still, even while it's main gun is offline, it's lesser armament is lashing out, blue-white Ion beams swatting away fighters that are finding their courses adjusted by the defense field and orange blasts from it's rather slow firing proton cannons making up for their low numbers and fire-rate by blasting a passing destroyer to pieces with consumate ease.

"Our new friends say they've got the captain! I think. Not up on the translation here."

"Second layer 50% penetration! Third layer shields within capacity at present, but I don't rate our chances for much longer, sir!"

"Get us the hell out of here! Don't bother with a vector, we'll correct course later!"

With it's various systems complaining about another abuse, the Maka-Diyos throws itself into the endless darkness of jumpspace, turbolaser blasts flying through the space it previously occupied. It performs a moderately graceful flip over the realspace equivalent of a few light-days before scooting off towards the Feronia system

"Did you see that, sir? I don't think that planet's going to be habitable after that lot hit."

"They fired first, Lieutenant. And anyway, I don't think there'll be any repercussions from their side atleast."

"On a side note, sir, do you think we can paint that monster on the side of the ship? I mean, we did get it, with a little help."

"...Are you insane?"

"Sir?"

"We'd need to book a dock to get that much painting done. I don't think we have enough paint on board. "
