Asgard-class (Trek)

Post by Crayz9000 »

This is a ship I did for someone on SCN. It's apparently supposed to be a medium cruiser that fits in between the Sovereign and some fan-made class.

How so?

It's far from finished; add in the hull colors and details and it'll look a lot better. I just have other things to do at the moment.

It's curvy and bright and looks like a kid's toy.

Sorry, but that was my first impression.

Nah, no problem. Probably because of the gradients that I put in, plus the fact that the hull is white now.

I think it's a hell of a lot more aesthetically pleasing than Voyager, at any rate; seems more balanced.

The nacelles seem overly large to me.

*shrug*

It was originally based off the Nova-class, but the guy who thought it up wanted it to be around the same scale as the Intrepid. I flattened the nacelles out somewhat to make them more Prometheus-style, but at any rate newer Trek ships seem to have longer nacelles. Perhaps it's a result of that "subspace-friendly" warp drive.

You forgot to show the hull vapourizing from within, due to a warp core explosion that was caused by an unusual harmonic covariance in the tertiary subspace domain interacting with the warp coil field resonances of the ... aw, fuck it.

Could it be the Dark Ones power then? Has he regained the Ring Of Bullshit?

Yeah. Now, if you shaded it a little, it would look perfect.

Funny. The only thing Sovereign-like about it is the impulse engine and indentation on the saucer. Actually, I was getting blasted by a rabid Trekkie over on SCN for making it too much like the Nova... :)
