Eek, more computer woes. Will it never end?

Post by Captain tycho »

My cpu continually jumps to 90-100 percent usage, which slows down my comp immensely (as you would expect).

I've run all my anti-virus/trojan/spyware stuff, and the problem still isn't going away. Hell, it'll stay at 100 percent when nothing is running! MY HJT log is totally clean (I can't post a log because HJT freezes whenever I try to save one)

Also, almost every program I run is buggy and unstable, crashing randomly and/or freezing. Physically, everything is getting plenty of power, and my system is running nice and cool. I checked all the internal connections, everything looks alright. I'm about this close to saying the hell with it and reformating. :(

Probably it's the right thing to do, since Winblows (even 9x) tend to rot, especially if you're uninstalling often. I always keep my system re-formatted and freshly re-installed once a year.

The thing is, I've only had this current install for about a month. :?\
EDIT: But anyways, I'll be reformatting. *grumbles.*

A month??? Try re-installing again and do NOT connect your PC to networks/internet for a while. If the problem stays then something must be really wrong with your hardware. Otherwise it may just be some new virus.
