Booting problems
Okey, everything is plugged in, when the system is plugged into the power outlet, a tiny "Standby light" activates on the motherboard, I press the power button...
Only no power, nothing happens.
I've re-did the front panel connectors, hasn't helped. Everything is connected right.
Any clues?
If pictures would help, I can provide.

Not as far as I can read, you can try downloading the Manual here.Melchior wrote:Try checking the motherboard's manual, maybe there is some exotic switch somewhere you need to activate.Ace Pace wrote:I'm guessing yes, because the motherboard power on light is functioning.Melchior wrote:Does the power supply work correctly?

You mean connecting the (for example) the reset button to the power connectors?Melchior wrote:You just need to wire the cables to a different button, they should be long enough.Ace Pace wrote:No, I'd really rather keep the current PC functioning.Melchior wrote:Do you have another case to try the thing in?

Make sure there are no extra standoffs installed in the case that the board doesn't have holes in. While it usually won't fry the board, a minor short caused by an extra standoff will prevent it from booting. Check all connections, of course, but I imagine you've done that about eleventy-seven times, so that's likely irrelevant.

No, he means that IF you have another case connect THAT case's power switch to your board's power connector. If it IS the switch, that should point it out.Ace Pace wrote:You mean connecting the (for example) the reset button to the power connectors?Melchior wrote:You just need to wire the cables to a different button, they should be long enough.Ace Pace wrote: No, I'd really rather keep the current PC functioning.
I take it that 'nothing happens' means even the PSU fan doesn't start, right?

Ah, I get it... I'll see if I can try that.Batman wrote:No, he means that IF you have another case connect THAT case's power switch to your board's power connector. And the PSU fan, no, dead, but its obvious the PSU is passing power on.

I'm asking because IF it did, it's definitely not the switch or the switch connectors.Ace Pace wrote: And the PSU fan, no, dead, but its obvious the PSU is passing power on.

I posted this on your other thread over in pictures but check the CMOS clear jumper. I've had motherboards come out of the box with it set to clear. This could cause this.
Also, unplug everything from the motherboard except for maybe a fan and THEN see if the fan comes on. Perhaps one of your devices if screwing everything up.
