ROTS DVD planned for November release

Post by Stravo »

According to Digital Bits ROTS looks like its planned for November release, perhaps as early as Nov. 7. GL also promises a new boxed set of all the movies with a bonus disc of deleted scenes and the like. UGH UGH UGH UGH.

How much more can the man butt fuck his fans for?? Why not simply create a new box set for the prequel DVD's? Is anything EVER definitive with this man?

The box set is planned further down the line, like after 2007 for the next generation DVD format.

That information was reported at least several months ago.

I think that was proven to just be a rumor, actually.

Anyway, that's why I didn't buy the DVD's this time around.

Damn it, why is it that each set of new DVDs George releases has new deleted scenes added into them? How many scenes is George holding out from us?

Mr. Lucas is unable to see your complaints, he has these big dollar signs stuck in his eyes. ;)

Seriously though, all he would have to do is have a mail-in deal that LucasFilm or Fox would accept proof of purchases for the original DVD's and send you the missing cardboard box(es) and bonus disc for a smaller fee than re-buying the whole thing.

That would be the sensible thing to do and more along the lines of what some other DVD sets have done in the past (like for example the LOTR set you could send away for the big box or buy the National Geographic discs seperately). But this is Lucas we're talking about... there's also the stupid deals like what was done with some of the Trek TOS sets, wherein you had to buy the set for a limited time at Best Buy or some other specific store chain in order to get an extras disc that should have just been part of the set, so who knows...

Then again, if this is going to be a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD set with the blue & red glasses included then that might not work.

I might be tempted to buy the re-releases of the OT DVD's if he were to actually fix the color errors on the lightsaber blades during Luke's trianing in ANH and both Vader vs. Luke duels. If not, then I'm buying the ROTS DVD by itself and that's that.

So i guess holding back from buying the OT DVD's wasn't such a bad idea.

I'll be getting the ROTS DVD in Nov, and then wait another few years and then will pick up the "Ultimate" set when its on Blue Ray or whatever.
