Has anyone tried this SW mod for Battlefield 1942? Is it any good?

I used to play it. Then Battlefront came out.
GC does have a few perks over Battlefront, but I honestly don't know why one would prefer it. BF's got a vastly superior engine, prettier graphics, bazillions times smoother infantry combat (my biggest beef with the Battlefield series), Clone Wars, and who knows what else I'm forgetting.

My understanding is that the latest release (5) includes the Clone wars, At-ATs, landspeeders, At-St, Tie's, X-wings, etc...JediNeophyte wrote:I used to play it. Then Battlefront came out.

Its always had the latter three, and landspeeders were added soon after.
GC's AT-ATs would need to pretty good to beat BF's; there's nothing quite like dominating Rebel scum from one of those, even with the painfully slow bolts.

They're nicely balanced. Without support, a good team can overwhelm them by comming in from all sides. With a good team (as they are a mobile spawn point) you can assault on the move very easily and dominate something insane.JediNeophyte wrote:Its always had the latter three, and landspeeders were added soon after.

I much prefer GC over BF. I just can't stand the god damn slow bolts in BF. Plus the space combat with good teams just rocks. Months ago I ever so carefuly flew my A-Wing up into the hanger of the Carack class Cruiser and landed on the walkway between the TIE racks. Then I went upto the bridge and started to gun everyone down. I managed to hold the bridge for a good two minuites, lettting the B-Wings have an easy time of things...then was shot making a run for the TIE racks.
Of course these days the hangers are bubble protected spawns, damnit! :p
