I like hate mail.

Anyway, on topic: I used to get letters like that a lot-- it stopped when I began picking them apart and sending them back though, as people in this thread are doing. I don't like chain mail at all, and people who send it to me generally aren't worth talking to anyway.

I keep switching back and forth between hating stupidity for its progress-inhibition and loving it for its entertainment value. 8)

I'm thinking that maybe I should E-mail him back, tell him it's going on the site Hate-Mail page, and warn him "someday, you will look back, see your own words preserved on my website, and realize what an arrogant little jack-ass you were." :D

(sniff) I never get any hate-mail.

Hey Mike, care to post some more hate-mail? You haven't updated your pages on that area for a while. They are SOOO fun to read.

Agree on the hate mail. Maybe like a "Monthly Moron" page, where you put in the dumbest e-mails you got for the month. Roughly once a month update them.

If you have the time, you might do:

Daily Dumbass
Weekly Wacko
Monthly Moron
Yearly Yokel

Yes. Yes, you should.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

That's hysterical. "Rape your ass in C++"? That'll have me laughing into next week easily.

It seems like a great time for the first few, but after you hear the exact same crap over and over and over ... and over again, it really just becomes tiring to slog through it all. I can only handle so much stupidity in one sitting. Hell, I didn't even read this one the whole way through. I figured I'd just post it here for the mob's amusement.

I have to second this motion. Stupidity of this calibre makes for wonderful entertainment. :)

Speaking of posting stuff for the mob, why don't you post some rebuttals you get on here to the senders? That way, you can skip the tedious process of rebuking each and every e-mail you recieve, and entertain SD.net members at the same time! It's a win-win situation. Except for the dudes who get swamped by condescending e-mails...

Hell yeah, I'd love to read some of their material. Cheap entertainment is always entertainment. :)

Forget posting rebuttals, though, that sounds like tedious work to me. Instead, do the same shit they do to you, and watch as hilarity ensues.

Are you suggesting posting their email addresses and messages, and letting SD.net members reply however/whenever they want? 'Cause that'd be awesome.

Tieing in with my earlier post, you could have a thread featuring e-mails you're too bored to refute, and have the SD.N members tear them apart in their free time. Then send a few of the rebuttals back. There. You just smacked down several idiots without even finishing your beer.

I read the glurge in the OP several times and didn't notice a single mention of "Love God" or "Love Thy Neighbor". Aren't those the two most important tenets of Christianity? When was it replaced with "Peer Pressure"?

When the fundies decided that everyone had to "Love God" just like, and just as much as, them or the entire country would go down the shitter. For some reason, Love Thy Neighbor and Turn The Other Cheek seem to be the first things out the window... at least they do to me anyways.

That's because love thy neighbor isn't stressed so much as loving God, if you're primarily afraid of hell. Fear is powerful.

I'm probably a day too late for this, but here's my stab at it:
*One Saturday night during a movie screening, a 2,000 member moviegoing audience was surprised to see two men enter, both covered from head to toe in black and carrying submachine guns. One of the men proclaimed, "Anyone willing to take a bullet for Vin Diesel remain where you are."

*Immediately, the creepy old men fled, the mothers with loud, crying babies fled, and most of the high-school couples obnoxiously making out with each other fled. Out of the 2,000 there only remained around 20.

*The man who had spoken took off his hood, looked at the guy running the projector, and said "Okay Guy Running the Projector, I got rid of all the hypocrites. Now you may begin your movie. Have a nice day!" And the two men turned and walked out.

*Too deep not to pass on...

*Funny how simple it is for people to trash Vin Diesel .. and then wonder why the world is in the condition it is today..

*Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what Vin Diesel says.

*Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything Vin Diesel says.

*Funny or is it scary?

*Funny how someone can say "I believe in Vin Diesel" but still follow Satan (who,by the way, also "believes"in Vin Diesel).

*Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding Vin Diesel, people think twice about sharing.

*Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyber space, but the public discussion of Vin Diesel is suppressed in the school and work place.

*Funny, isn't it? Funny how someone can be so fired up for Vin Diesel on Sunday, but be an invisible Vin Diesel fan the rest of the week.

*Are you laughing?

*Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

*Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what Vin Diesel thinks of me.

*Are you thinking? Will y ou share this with people you care about? Or not?

*I picked you~

My instructions were to send this to people that I wanted Vin Diesel to bless and I picked you. Please pass this to people you want to bless!!

Those E-mails are all the same. They're aimed at Christians who don't go to church any more, trying to guilt-trip them into returning. I don't think they have the foggiest idea how to communicate with an atheist; I know for a fact that many of them think all atheists are actually just Christians who are denying their true beliefs.

Nah, I figure it's primarily because they're brought up to believe in the religion the same way a lot of us believe in gravity. They believe that it's truly absolutely right, and that any doubts are just people in denial. Apparently, it's harder to follow the kind of life outlined by christ then to be almost certain that there's almost no true purpose or point to life. Yeah, we're the ones in denial... definately.. lol.
