Ouch! I don't suppose it made his hair fall out too so he has to cover it up with the hood even though everyone knows who that evil bastard really is.

Do Droidekas incorporate particle shielding as well, or only ray shielding?

On a related note, why didn't Qui-Gon and Obi Wan Force Push or Force Strike (or whatever you'd the same telekinetic attacks they performed in the B1 droids just seconds earlier) on the pair of droidekas in the Trade Federation battleship?
Or alternatively, hurl some debris at them.

Perhaps Qui-Gon has a different force-power focus than Yoda and Windu. He doesn't demonstrate the offensive focus that Windu has, nor the sheer range of force powers Yoda packs.

As for Obi-Wan, he's still a padawan at this point, and nowhere near as skilled as "General Kenobi" of the Clone Wars.

True, but Obi Wan (Padawan age) and Qui-Gon were still capable of taking out small groups of B1 droids with Force strikes. Wouldn't such attacks be sufficient to disable a Droideka?

Of course, Kurgan has cleared this up already.. :D

Maybe Qui Gon Felt it was no longer worth the effort and desided to try and get off the ship.

That was disapointing ..Should we show this Federation how to build a ship so we may have worthy foes? Typhonis 1
