You actually take that literally?
If a British soldier from the 18th century said "my love for king and country keeps me warm" on a cold day, would you actually assume that his love for king and country is a fucking heater?

So a Jem Hadar kid needs food. We'll ignore that to grow at the rate he grows at, he wouldn't need Sisko's soup, he'd need about thirty large steaks per meal. Aside from this, the dietry requirements of many species, including humans, are different when they are young. A queen bee doesn't require constant input of royal jelly when she is adult, to use an extreme example.

There's then the fact that the crew of the defiant do not observe them eating, and that quark bitches about them not drinking or eating during the occupation of DS9.

So? That only means they don't eat with everyone else. They're not exactly social creatures; they sure as hell wouldn't be eating and drinking in Quark's bar. The mere fact that they are biologically capable of ingesting and digesting food means that they must eat, otherwise why the hell would the Founders engineer them to have all of that wasted plumbing?

Something not really part of the discussion, but who cares?
The Jem'Hadar as used by the Dominion are not the smartest soldiers. However, they are certainly among the most loyal. Even when they know they are being used to their death for personal motives, they will do their duty. For Star Wars, I have a feeling a great many factions would love to have Jem'Hadar at their disposal. Fiercly loyal, can be bred in under 4 days to full maturity. Train them up. They require absolutely no creature comforts. Compared to the early war Clone Troopers the Jem'Hadar would make excelent shock troopers.

You want absolute loyalty. The clones turned on the jedi without an regret or hesitation, even they had fought along side them and gained respect for them for three years. Heck, some were actually close friends with the Jedi, Bly and Aayla Secura/ Cody and Obi-Wan. And they slaughtered them all without remorse, because they were ordered to.
The Jem'Hadar are not absolutely loyal. Some of them are, but there have been rebellions, Jem'Hadar have killed their Vorta supervisors over an insult, etc. There's a reason why they need the White to keep them under control.
Jem'Hadar are not superior soldiers; they are thugs, filled with religious fanaticism but sorely lacking in real discipline. Fanatical willingness to die is a poor substitute for professionalism and discipline.

Never said they are superior soldiers, but would make very good shock troops (IE sucicide troopers).
What was the incident where the Jem'Hadar killed their vorta superior? I only know of one incident with the Jem'Hadar rebelling and it was only 20 some Jem'Hadar and ultimately they killed themselves.

A JH team allied with DS9 and hitched a ride on the Defiant in order to kill some rebel JH who had seized an Iconian jumpgate. After the mission was over and they had successfully destroyed the gate, the JH killed their Vorta supervisor because he had insulted their honour earlier. That whole episode pretty much shot the myth of Jem'Hadar perfect loyalty to hell.

When Sisko is trying to talk Remata Klan into killing his Vorta in Rocks and Shoals and mentions the incident of the the previous Vorta killing by a Jem'hedar Remata replies "It has been known to happen. It is a sign that the unit lacks discipline." or something to that effect.

Wait, I seem to recall that there may have been a few rebels left, and the ones who were still loyal to the founders cloak and run off to hunt them after they announce their intention to stay behind to Sisko.

There's a huge difference between shock troops and fanatical thugs.

We know that even with their addiction to the white that they're not perfectly loyal to the Vorta, but does that mean they're not loyal to the Founders?
Irrespective, the situation of a crack-addled whore and a Jem'Hadar soldier aren't alike- Jem'Hadar are indoctrinated as well, not just drug-addicted.

The group which seized control of the Iconian jumpgate turned against the Founders. Give people enough power and it's amazing how their reverence can suddenly disappear.

Indoctrinated with quasi-religious fanaticism, but their willingness to kill a superior officer over an insult indicates a lack of discipline, and as mentioned earlier, you're better off with disciplined troops than fanatical ones.

Seems about even to me, assuming they actually fight. Both are known to employ poor tactics at times, and neither are really known for their sharp shooting. I guess the Clone Troopers would have an edge if the had some of their heavier guns.
