Sorry folks, but Christians are just better at writing garbage like this than atheists are. While not quite on the level of absurdity of the story about the science teacher dropping a glass beaker on his foot, both of those stories really kind of blow.

Remember, he was willing to let an Atheist into heaven for leading a good life for the "wrong" reasons. So a Christian who leads a good life but screws up the religion aspect of it would still have gotten in.
A 2,000 year old book that was his only real point of contact with the world. This is akin to a parent telling a child 'Now I'm going to punish you for following the rules I laid down instead of being smart and thinking for yourself.'

The fucking book itself promises eternal torment if you don't follow the rules. I.e., the God in this story is a bastard who deserves to be told off. Given that he obviously doesn't stick to his word, given that he's willing to condemn people to eternal torment, how the hell do you know he won't change the rules again when you're in Heaven and kick your ass down to hell anyway?

Also, what she did was demand oblivion, not torment.

Um...the 2,000-year-old 'update' promises eternal torment. The 4,000-year-old original does nothing of the sort.

Interesting viewpoint. While I doubt this is the way god would handle either circumstance (if god existed), Eve's little moment of defiance was amusing. I think she should've chosen Paradise. God, to me, would be like the boss who is always out of town. With so many people to let in, he's going to be busy for quite a while, so heaven could be quite fun in his absence. And while the deity's away, the atheists shall play.

The fucking book does promise that, however, you failed to consider that God even told Martin that the book was written by man, NOT GOD. So you're basis is completely flawed. God promised nothing, man promised man something that couldn't be delivered.

I would accept paradise. There's no point in being banished to oblivion. Also, perhaps God wants only intelligent people in heaven.
