What are you saying here? Are you arguing a point or what?
Nevermind. I don't even know what I'm saying there. Let's just drop it.
i don't give a shit. He was acting that way all through the movie, so what if this was the first time he vocalised his thoughts clearly?
No you don't understand. He tried to save his mum, but arrived too late. He was blaming himself, then he started blaming Obi-wan. Then he blamed the Tuskens. He wasn't in a rational state of mind.
And fuck it, he accuese Obi-Wan of holding him back (or in general being a bad mentor) in the scene where Padme is backing her bags;
Crown, he says he thinks Obi-wan is a great mentor, only that he's overly critical and sometimes seems to not take him seriously. This frustrates Anakin, as it would any who take that condescension from someone they respect. Obi-wan IS holding him back - other people his age did the trials and became Knights. He asks "Why not me?" Naturally he's young and stupid, and impatient. I don't see 'evil prick' though.

And Obi-wan didn't disagree with using Padme as bait, he just said 'It's too risky." Anakin then explains what he's doing. Obi-wan didn't exactly snap at Anakin over the whole matter. Hell they didn't even talk about it that long, they went onto that digression about Palpatine and politicians and whatnot. And it was HER idea to use herself as bait, remember? If you're going to use this as a sign of his 'rebellious' you should know that 1. it was Padme's idea, not his and 2. Obi-wan didn't scream at Anakin over it or stop the plan, he just crossed his arms and said "Too risky, but I can't be fucked getting worked up over it."

[EDIT] I no longer disagree with the 'rebellious' angle to his character, I just don't see it as this massive flaw in characterisation. And I can't see him as an evil prick at this point in the story.

And it's now 03:00. I'm gonna try to get some sleep. Once again, Stravo, I'm sorry for upsetting you over the whole matter and I take back my words. I think we can disagree over the issue of characterisation while still discussing it, if you want to. I got hot and I shouldn't have. Sorry. :)

I'll quote it for you again;
ANAKIN
Master Obi-Wan manages not to see
it...

PADMÉ
Mentors have a way of seeing more
of our faults than we would like.
It's the only way we grow.

ANAKIN
Don't get me wrong... Obi-Wan is
a great mentor. As wise as Master
Yoda and as powerful as Master
Windu. I am truly thankful to be
his apprentice. Only... although
I'm a Padawan learner, in some
ways... a lot of ways... I'm ahead
of him. I'm ready for the trials.
I know I am! He knows it too.
He
believes I'm too unpredictable...
Other Jedi my age have gone
through the trials and made it...
I know I started my training
late... but he won't let me move
on
.

PADMÉ
That must be frustrating.

ANAKIN
It's worse... he's overly
critical. He never listens! He
just doesn't understand! It's not
fair!
First, I could forgive the outburst after the death of his mother, if that was the only time he showed those kind of thoughts (although it still would have had to come from somewhere). But it isn't. It is a theme that Anakin had been pushing from the very begining of the movie (first contradicting Obi-Wan, then claiming he was more powerfull - or his senses were) and then with the scene above.

And I already said, the 'evil' will be revealed in RotS (for me), and I think that I have more than demonstrated my case for prick.

Watch the scene. Obi-Wan doesn't agree with it; Anakin makes a snide remark (par for the course for him), cut away, Obi-Wan remarks on Anakin looking tired, they got on the subject of dreams, Padme, politics, they sense the attack.

My point stands. Obi-Wan didn't agree with Anakins plan.

Get some sleep mate.
