The Voyager episode with 7 of 9's human parents showed them scanning a Borg cube and saying that its volume was 27 cubic kilometres. Therefore, it is 3km wide. I am not yet aware of any visual contradictions to this figure.

Come on man, you don't have to be that accurate. Three or four kilometers it don't matter. The thing is still cannon-fodder for a few turbo lasers.Shadow wrote: 28, not 27.

Actually in BoBW pt1 Shelby states that if 75% of it wan destroyed it could still work, though with the "wussification" that Voyager brought in this went out the window. That's just a bunch of crap. The 3 km per side comes from the TNG episode where we first see the cube, and there's several cubes that hasn't been destroyed to 75% and they were still blown to hell. Canon proves the guy wrong

Wasn't it 75% damaged? Or am I recalling the quotes wrong?Gandalf wrote:Actually in BoBW pt1 Shelby states that if 75% of it wan destroyed it could still work, though with the "wussification" that Voyager brought in this went out the window.

that has already been shown, the borg couldn't produce the SW armor without the resources! they dont have it in their galaxy.Crown wrote:P.S. Assimilation = admition of defeat. It means that the only way that the Borg would win is if they had the same weapons as SW. It is an admission that the ST weapons aren't up to SW standards. If he continues with this, then it's a question of whether or not the Borg can assimilate such as advanced technology anyway, and whether or not they are even able to build this tech. It doesn't weaken the Empire at all. They have always been battling against foes who's weapons are equal to there own, so the Borg having one SD or two or whatever makes no difference!

I love the way that Trekkies ALWAYS fall back on ludicrous tactics that would somehow allow their ships to defeat hundreds of ISD's unscathed. It seems to me that if your side needs to rely on innumerable, untested tactics to win, then they are in fact admitting defeat in that they could not possibly defeat the other side in a reasonable manner. These tactics also, invariably, have glaringly obvious flaws that only the most idiotic person could possibly miss, and so the Trekkies rely on their ability to be BOTH suicidal AND creative, while disavowing the Imperials of their intelligence.Darth Balls wrote:lol, now they're trying to think up special tricks to use

I also love the manner in which such tactics are presented. They usually end with either a destruction of Coruscant, or with "After the Imperials lose a few Star Destroyers, they would have to retreat."

I can tell you why, that is quite simple. The Borg were the only villian that brought Voyager decent ratings, so they had to make them the fucking villain of the weak. The only problem is that it would only take ONE encounter with the Borg for Voayger to become Borgified, so the B & B staff wussified them down to another version of the Romulans or the Klingons.
Of course with weak Borg, a new and scarier villain had to be introduced. Enter Species 8472.
By the way, the Borg from "Best of Both Worlds" would have taken out lame ass Species 8472 from the get go. Hell, the original Borg could have probably taken out Species 8472 and the Dominion combined. They were the badest of the bad.
For those of you that think the Dominion is more powerful, Picard called the Borg the Federation's "most lethal enemy" in First Contact (obviously, he never watched any Voyager).

Pfft they basically ripped the balls of the Borg(because god forbid Voyager faces anything of real challenge they cannot technobabble out of) and added Tits of Ass for ratings.
The Borg became yet another footnote in the glorious ST of B&B.

Hey, I am no expert here by any means, but I think that if the Borg ever encountered any Star Wars technology, they would in the same way that they did in Best of Both Worlds: scan it, beam a drone over, test it, then declare war.
Turbo lasers would be adapted to. I think it would be a matter of taking some hits and then adapting. Keep in mind that I am not talking about the Voyager "wussified" Borg.
Hey, can someone tell me the Star Trek website that is something like "section 31.com?" Does anyone know this site? I once found it, but I lost it when I reinstalled my Windows.
Thanks.

There must be limits to the Borg's ability to adapt to other weapons. It seems that their adaptation to weapons is merely an optimization, and that they cannot increase exponentially the actual amount of power their shields can stop. I have no interest in going through this with you, as it has already been done numerous times in the past, but your reference to an obviously pro-Trek site leads me to believe that you have not researched the matter as thoroughly as you might have done. Read Mike Wong's site before you get in over your head. Try to learn about the material. It's okay, even encouraged, to question his figures, but generally his analyses of events and film are so good that few people come up with serious objections.bozman wrote:Hey, I am no expert here by any means, but I think that if the Borg ever encountered any Star Wars technology, they would in the same way that they did in Best of Both Worlds: scan it, beam a drone over, test it, then declare war.

Oh please. I asked a simple question, and you get defensive. Nice. Very nice. Has it ever occurred to you that one might be able to enjoy watching both Star Wars and Star Trek (even though I pretty much hate everything from B & B)? Do you think that poeple automatically have to take a side and then go into flame battles with the other? Get a fucking life.
I only made a hypothetical situation, and then said what I think from the what I have watched. Maybe I am totally wrong. Maybe you are right. At least I can admit that. And before you get "in over your head" maybe you should fucking read what people write before you throw a temper tantrum.
I read both Star Wars and Star Trek fan sites because I enjoy reading them. Jesus fucking Christ.

Hey Master, I just read your post again and realized that you weren't being as antagonistic as I had originally assumed. I thought that you insulted me for what I had said. Let me apologize to you. I am sorry about that. I now realize that you were being completely rational. Sorry for coming off like a dickhead. Maybe it's my high protein diet. Anyway, I wouldn't blame you for ignoring me from now on.
Maybe sometime you and I can go into a fundie chat room and tell them the reality behind creationism.
Sorry again Master.
