Was that from the "Lucas raped my childhood and isn't making the films I want him to" guy? IIRC from MF, he has a MAJOR case against Lucas, Star Wars, and Peter Jackson, among others.

He's just a whiny bitch.

He didn't have all three prequels written before Shrubby was elected. He only wrote the RotS script in 2003, I think. Maybe early 2004. It's the general plot he had worked out, so the point remains the same.

This idiot clearly doesn't understand SW. SW has NEVER been about great dialogue.
Actually, it's up again. It was down to 80 % for awhile.

Yeah, I'm thinking of Walter Chaw from Film Freak. Major douchebag, aparently.

Some guys over at MF are also waiting with mild anticipation to hear what Gene "Shit Head" Shalit thinks.

Ah yes. The review headed "ROTS is just a death twitch". What a butthead. All I have to say to him is :finger:

Lets look at one of his criticisms:
WC wrote:Along the way, Lucas continues to make his original trilogy of Star Wars films anachronistic by rendering lines like Ben's "Nobody's called me that since long before you were born" from A New Hope or Leia's gauzy, romantic memory of her mother in Return of the Jedi obsolete and destined for revision the next time Lucas decides to digitally mutate his babies.
I love the way he ignroes the fact that Obi-wan's statement is NOT precise and could be chalked up to old age and 20 years passing and Leia's memories of Amidala could EASILY be explained by a vision throught the Force.

Or even more easily by a simple picture of her mother looking sad that she's seen.

Especially since SW uses moving holograms and not still photographs. All Leia said she remembers is "images really"

Who is this Michael Dodd you speak of? I've never heard of this politician.

I've always speculated that the source of the Dodd here mentioned was Christopher Dodd - a Democratic senator who was instrumental in passing some controversial pro-business legislation during the mid-1990s - around the time when GL probably would have started writing the prequels. I don't really know why Trent Lott is referenced though, as he has always been identified primarily as a social conservative rather than a business conservative.

Another thing - the TF's flagship is called The Invisible Hand, which is pretty obviously named after the capitalist invisible hand, which is one of the foundations of all arguments for free-market economics. So it's pretty obvious where GL falls.

I'm not convinced. I'm pretty damn sure its not called the Invisible Hand in the script, but "Trade Federation Cruiser" or something generic. It may have been Saxton if not; he's behind a lot of the finance or economics-sounding names of ships for the Seperatists, like Lucrehulk for the Trade Federation's split-ring warships.

Ah, you're probably right. If the Invisible Hand name doesn't originate with GL I doubt there's any significance attached to it.

Oh if it was Saxton its very intentional, but it also says nothing about GL's biases or stances either.

The kind of person who hates a movie because he thinks he can detect subtle tones of George Lucas' political leanings in its plot is the kind of person who shouldn't be allowed off his leash, never mind being permitted to publish movie reviews.

It's up to 91% now. Wow.

Now we just have to wait for the bulk of the cream of the crop reviews to come in and see if they savage it.

It's been "Certified Fresh," too, now that it has enough reviews.

So far, though, the "Cream of the Crop" has been very favorable towards the film. They have four reviews in that section, two of them state that it's the best since "Empire..." and the others seem even more favorable.

Recalling how badly the critics bumbled the first two, I'm cautiously optimistic. What's weird is that a few of the critics have basically indicated that it's the best film ever, and some of the other ones were more "Meh. Good film, could've been a lot better."

Invisible Hand is in the novelization. Considering that the novel mentions Carracks, Victory-class Star Destroyers, and Dreadnoughts, but doesn't mention Venator Star Destroyers even once, I doubt Invisible Hand was Dr. Saxton's doing.

There are a lot of critics from various major media outlets (networks, magazines, radio, newspapers) that haven't been heard from yet.
