Star Wars Sickout

So basically, how many of you are going to mysteriously fall ill and have to visit the "doctor" on the 19th? I was originally planing on taking the day off, but decided to see a later (7:00 pm) showing. So I will just make sure that I get out the door no later than 5 and haul ass back to Baltimore. The last thing that I want is to be forced to sit in the front row

I don't work and I just completed my term, and since I'll be seeing it about a week or so after it opens, I don't have to worry about jack. :P

I don't work either, but I will be revising my arse off - got exams on Thurs and Friday, one on the following Tuesday and two on the Wednesday - I might get to the saturday showing, but my inclination is to simply wait until exams are over and then I can see it without having anything else to worry about. It's only three or four days to wait. Not too long.

Although I'm actually free on the 19th, I'm going to be watching it on the 21st (as some others on this board should know well enough). Like I want to try to compete for decent seats on opening day! :P

I've got an exam on the 19th, seeing it on the 20th. Revising my arse off in the meantime, obviously.

The beauty of writing a term paper is that you get to pick your own work hours. I'm not going for the midnight one, though. But I will be at the first daytime showing at 2pm here.

What kind of uberemployee are you? You will just tell your boss: "Yes boss, I decided that watching ROTS is a little important than working, so I'm taking my day off"?!

I wanted to take the day off... but since I'm still in my first month on the job, that would leave a bad impression up-a-top. Fortunately, I get Fridays off...

How the fuck does anyone here expect to concentrate after a sleepless night? Seriously, my only two possibilities were "take day off" or "see later". Wouldn't be able to get anything done, otherwise.

I would have pulled a sickie except for two things:
(a) there are no cinemas in Riyadh
(b) it would spoil my record of not watching any of the PT at the cinemas.

Honestly, as much as my blood warms at the thought of seeing the movie as soon as possible, I'm working that day and a couple after. So I won't bother going to see it until then.

Besides, it'll give those real pesky Star Wars nerds the chance to fight eachother with their toy lightsabers for good seats. I'd just be breaking the skinny ones in half.

I plan to take the day after victoria day off (the joy of having non-fixed vacation days), - if there is a movie theater playing it I can get to - and see it then
