Listen. I too thought that Executor is 17.6 in length. But. Official statement is and official statement, wherether you like it or not.
It CAN'T be wrong because it is OFFICIAL. Now. It is OFFICIAL that the last statement about SSD's size will be that it is 12.8 km, it is OFFICIAL that there will be no more statements that it is 8 km or more than 12.8 km.
Go to the New Canon Page or look up Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy and look up Leland Chee comments. He says, explicitly, that the
SW Holocron now lists the Executor's length at around 19 kilometers. CANON.
If he whines about that number being larger than 17.6 kilometers, explain that Saxton's math came out to 11-12 times the length of the Avenger-type ISD, and that is 17.6-19.2 km. We went with the lower limit because when the person is always arguing for vast underballing, its easier to argue the adequate lower limit than the upper limit or realistic figure. This is also why SW calcs seem much lower before AOTC ICS; AOTC ICS used realistic calcs, where as in vs. arguments it was hard enough to get Trektards to accept bare-bones lower limit values, so no one bothered arguing for higher ones, even if they were more realistic.
EDIT: As Emeril would say...BAM!

I'm not sure I understand the question.
There's a size field for the Executor entry in the Holocron. That field now say s [sic]
~19 km long. It used to say 12 km and before that 8 km. In the Continuity Notes field of the Holocron, it lists some (though not all) sources where the different lengths were stated. There are some notes as to the entire discussion. The next time someone wishes to print a length for the ship, we look at the size field and say, the size is ~19 km long. Could this change yet again? It's unlikely, though never impossible.
