I'm going to school, but will be taking a cab to the theatre immediately after.

Because of the time I purchased my ticket, I'll have only forty-five minutes to cover the 3.8 km between my school and the theatre. I should get there with about twenty minutes to spare when I get there, though. It's a small theatre, and I already own tickets, so getting in shouldn't be a problem.

You'll have to deal with me running around in circles and generally flipping out in the meantime. :P

I am *so* not waiting more than 10 days to see RotS.

Well I would rather not see it within about five days of it's premiere.

At least until the fanfare dies down a little.

Nope, I'm not going to see it on opening day either. It's going to be fucking insane at the all of two theaters in the area, so I won't even bother. Just wait a few days for everyone to get it out of their systems, then slip in. :D

I'm both working and a part-time student.... BUT my sister's getting married on the 20th and I have to help out at my parents' place. Looks like my record of watching the PTs on opening day mornings' flushed down the Thomas Crapper.

I'm in no hurry. I'd rather the theatres aren't so full.

Also I don't really know if they're showing it that day here. A private club is going to show it I think but it's all sold out.

No ....

As a purchaser/victim of the MMO Star Wars Galaxies (I'm much better now, thank you) I'll be boycotting the first week of the film to do my small part to reduce its 'record-breaking' opening weekend .... George let them put that stinking pile of crap out under his name and even let them screw it up a little more with some stupid Wookie theme-park expansion to pimp the movie.

Concentrate on making decent god-damned movies, George, quit being such a merchandising whore!

Last final is on the 18th. An hour later and I'll be in line for most of the day with my friends for the midnight showing.

Bless you Spanky! This is my plan as well (within a week). If we see each other at the theater, we shall be as brothers!

That's my plan, too. I went to see the re-release of ANH on opening day. I hated the experience. The movie was good, of course, but I hated the crowds and the dweebs in stormtrooper costumes (you know, they don't fit in a theatre seat too well!) and the general party atmosphere. It just doesn't work for me.

By the way, no offense to anyone planning to wear their stormtrooper costumes to opening day! :D

I'm normally scheduled to work that day from 10-1:30. Just long enough to pitch in to help the lunch shift. After I'm off, it's away to the local multiplex. I'll buy tickets, play some games while I'm hanging around, and then it's showtime. I haven't received any invites to go with anyone, so I'll go alone if I have to.

I wonder if anyone will use this excuse (feel free to test it, not responsible for any firing/laughter that may result):

"As a confirmed member of the Jedi Faith, I demand that on this Holy Day of Obligation I be released from all work/school related duties to attend this most sacred ceremony.

Failure to allow me to do so is a violation of my First Amendment rights to Free Religious Practice, not to mention discrimination against a minority."

(might help to be wearing full Jedi getup at the time of asking)

If this fails, try waving your hand around while saying "You WILL give me the day off..."
