i think the basic gist is she felt that vader was -somehow- representative of god, in that he commanded everything he saw, and vader was somehow representative of jesus, god's right hand man. basically she was a typical batshit insane fundy. and an english teacher no less to boot.

In fairness, the TOS Klingons did have sort of a Middle Eastern look. I think they were more supposed to be stand-ins for the Russians though, and later turned into Spartans (or Mongols, although looking at the place they take in that universe the Borg are actually filling the Mongol role).
