I still find the best is European Air War. First, you can have a furball involving MANY aircrafts. Second, unlike Jane's F/A-18, it still compatible on modern systems (but you'll loose the fog effects with ATI video cards, but there's a fix ). Third, there are tons of mod available on the net. Fourth, it has the most solid fan community.



IMO, it's still more enjoyable than IL-2 Sturmovik. At least in European Air War I wasn't being killed by stalling and crashing just after flying for five minutes.

:oops: Misread the title. Sadly, they don't make WWI sims anymore these days, so I would suggest either Red Baron II or Flying Corps Gold.

There are no newer ones... pity. I'll try and find either of those games somewhere then.

The old-school Red Baron was released as freeware, IIRC.
