Lkewise, in the fiction of Nick Perumov, Amberverse is nothing more than a complex multi-level universe in the Sphere of the Worlds. Amberverse would lose.THe Yosemite Bear wrote:But under the laws of Amber, all of the fictional realities are mere shadows.

Amber would win. I don't think it is right to have unrelated series be part of a universe that is in no way connected other than its own means, but that's just my opinion. Anyways, Amberverse states that ALL universes are part of the Amberverse, correct? SO that would incluse the Perumoverse.fgalkin wrote:Lkewise, in the fiction of Nick Perumov, Amberverse is nothing more than a complex multi-level universe in the Sphere of the Worlds. Btw, Amberites, please answer the following question:
How does time work? does it flow simultaneously in every shadow, does time flow in opposite directions in some shadows, etc?

So theoretically, Perumoverse and Amberverse COULD technically be the same thing, because they obviously are not mutually exclusive. They can't be outside each other for obvious reasons, and they can't be part of each other, so they MUST be EACH OTHER.

It prolly could be anything and everything....it wouldn't really matter, as long as time flows different, that's really all that needs to be known.fgalkin wrote:As in slower/faster?THe Yosemite Bear wrote:Ver has never read Amber.

Time flow in Amber is weird.fgalkin wrote:Well, just wondering whether the time in Amber follows the River of Time.
You have shadows where years can pass in seconds in relation to Amber and some where a second may take a year to pass in Amber. And everything in between. Its one of the great tricks of the Amberites to go off to a "fast time" shadow to regenerate, recuperate or train. Or to a "slow time" shadow if they need to hide out for a LOOOONG time. Nearer to the courts time becomes even more variable flowing every which way.
Some Amberites and Chaosites with great control over either pattern or logrus can change the speed of time at a whim to suit their needs.

Sweet. it's exactly like that in the Perumoverse, too. Except time can move backwards, too.weemadando wrote:Time flow in Amber is weird.fgalkin wrote:Well, just wondering whether the time in Amber follows the River of Time.

How would it work? And how does time work in Amberverse?weemadando wrote:I get the feeling that you probably would get the reverse time flow areas REALLY close to the courts...fgalkin wrote: Sweet. it's exactly like that in the Perumoverse, too. Except time can move backwards, too.
In Perumoverse, every world is located in the River of Time. Depending on the strength of the current, time flows either faster or slower. Sometines, there are streams branching off, and there tim might flow backwards. There can also be almost no time movement in stagnant water.

I have a feling this has to do with the Pattern of the AMberverse. And it seems likely, weem, that time could flow backwards in some shadows.fgalkin wrote:How would it work?
