Supershadow.com and relation to the online SW community
I've just found out about Supershadow.com from Wikipedia. The whole thing is very interesting- I've never heard about this site before, and its webmaster is apparently as much a loony and fake as that one lady who claimed the Matrix totally stole her weird ideas.
So what is SS thought of by the rest of the community here, at TheForce.net, etc.?
I'm also interested in the shape of the overall online SW community. What are the biggest forums?

Starwars.com forums and the TFN forums boast the largest populations, I think.I'm also interested in the shape of the overall online SW community. What are the biggest forums?

I decided to peek at the guy's site. Wow, he's so full of shit. He pretends that George Lucas actually says the crap on his site. Why doesn't Lucas sue, is my question.
Shadow pretends he was responsible for getting the end of RotJ rescored:
Shadow pretends he was responsible for getting the end of RotJ rescored:
Shadow pretends that Lucas might make the third trilogy:Mr. Lucas, recently I got the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD for Christmas, which is without a doubt my favorite present I received and I watch the trilogy quite a lot. Though of the things that were added/ replaced, there is one that I really dislike, no loathe, actually I'm horrified by it! Why was the Ewok music at the end of Return of the Jedi replaced with orchestral!? I am probably one of the only fans who love the Ewoks more than the any of the other characters and I believe the Ewoks got jipped. Also, is it true that Anakin meets his fate in the Obi-Wan fight because Obi-Wan uses the Force to push the lava onto Anakin? I've heard this rumor and I am curious if it is true.
George Lucas: I give the changes I make to the old films a lot of thought. Shadow has never liked the Ewok Celebration song. He says it is quite lame. Shadow only gives his opinion when it can really make a difference. I thought Shadow had a point so I asked Johnny to create something new for the end of Return of the Jedi. Shadow loves the new music and so do most fans. Chalk up another brilliant idea by Shadow.
Shadow just makes shit up in general:Hi Mr. Lucas. I am a BIG fan of Star Wars. I was thinking since the whole Star Wars saga is about Anakin. Don't make Episode 7 through out. It gets away from the plot.
George Lucas: Whether Episode 7 ever gets made is up to the fans. If Revenge of the Sith is the biggest hit film in 2005, then we will move forward with Episode 7. If the fans let me down and Revenge of the Sith is not as successful as I would like, then we will close the door on the Star Wars films. Box-office failure will prove that there is no longer sufficient interest in Star Wars to justify making yet another trilogy.
Shadow pretends that George Lucas hates Kevin Smith:How did you come up Star Wars especially with the words light saber, Jedi, Wookiee, Yoda, etc. Star Wars ROCKS MY WORLD! THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH FOR MAKING STAR WARS!
George Lucas: Star Wars was born out of my love for the adventure serials I use to watch at the theater as a child. These serials included Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon. I wanted to give children a new mythology that taught them the difference between right and wrong.
I decided to call the laser swords light sabers because of obvious reasons. The swords were sabers that were made of light so the name is really just common sense.
The word Jedi originated from a little known religion in Albania. I’ll let you research the rest. It’s quite interesting.
One day I was driving in a car with somebody and this person hit a bump in the road. They said I think I just hit a Wookiee. I thought that was a good name so I used it to describe Chewbacca’s species.
Yoda is a derivation of Yoga. Simple as that.
George, I would like to know what future changes you will be making to the original trilogy as you are still not happy with them? Also is it true that if a Star Wars TV show does go ahead that another of my favorite film makers (along with Steven Spielberg and obviously yourself) Kevin Smith will be involved? Also I really do love all the movies you have made. Still A Huge Fan. Damien C., Ireland.
George Lucas: There are a few changes I will make regarding the old films. I’m not going to tell you what those changes are though. Let it be a surprise.
There will be two Star Wars TV shows. One computer-animated show based on the Clone Wars shorts and a live-action show based on minor characters from the films. The live-action series will be set after Revenge of the Sith, but prior to the events of A New Hope.
Kevin Smith has a very foul mouth. His films are filled with nothing but bad words. I certainly do not want him involved with Star Wars. Smith is the last person you will see attached to the new Star Wars projects. Steven will also not be involved. I will probably direct the pilot episode for the live-action one and I might have some involvement with the scripts for the first few years. It depends on how much time I have free.

Lucas may not be the most eloquent of speakers, but compared to this idiot, he's Abraham Lincoln. Honestly, with each passing day, SS pisses me off more and more. You wouldnt believe how many people wander onto SW.com and begin spewing his filth, especially his midiclorian levels list. I dont hold it against them, this filthy dreg is the one really responsible for brainwashing the uninformed.

IIRC, Lucasfilm basically threatened to sued him for offering Hyperspace material and generally free stuff as part of a subscription service: ergo, copyright violation.JediMaster415 wrote:I thought I once heard somewhere that Lucas did sue him for his site.
And that third Q&A example that DP quoted just further proved to me that SuperShadow is just about the most full of shit individual on the planet. Ignoring the really obvious "lightsabre," all the rest of that shit is so easy to look up online that there is no reason why SS had to make shit up, other than to be SuperShadow coming up with the "real" answers. I mean seriously, only the "Wookiee" example is even close to being halfway right, and he still fucks it up...

he must get off on how many fans he can fool or he's nuts
At once both a source of aggravation and amusement for real fans. Shall he be pitied or mocked, he deserves both.
The community at large realizes he's a fraud (before TPM came out, nobody could prove it of course). Now he still manages to fool at least a handful of gullible people... at least his madness will be ended tomorrow, when people actually see the movie and realize he's been making up crap and taking credit where he had no right to.
Then again, will he be able to spin these people on for a few more years in the hopes of Episodes VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, etc? Who knows.
Either he'll get bored, shut down legally, or somebody will hack his server in retaliation eventually.
And yes, most people don't even know who he is or has followed him for long. But you can tell that people have come upon his site, and moved on without realizing it, then passing that info off.
Example, you'll see somebody posting in a forum and say "I don't remember where I heard this from, but didn't (fill in info that SS made up on his site)?"

I had a look to see what stuff this guy had got wrong in ROTS and went to his ROTS script. Was the script leaked some time ago? Because a helluva lot of that was in the movie exactly.

Apparently he's changed what he's posted in that area a couple of times.
I didn't read the things (just in case they were real) but saved them (I'm planning to read 'em for laughs after I see the movie). I think I heard that the earlier ones were fakes (either fan scripts or stuff he made up to fill in the gaps between genuine spoilers that were known) and he claimed they were "early drafts." Then he put up the "real one" that was leaked whenever it was. He can of course claim that anything in his "scripts" that isn't in the movie was "deleted at the last minute."
A few weeks ago he claimed to have seen the movie "over a hundred times" too IIRC, and he claims he edited it with Lucas.
I wonder how he'll explain why his name isn't in the credits? A pseudonym? Will he rant for weeks about how Lucas is no longer his best buddy because he was left off for such an important job? Or will he claim he is so modest that he worked for free AND took no credit (but he scored with all the babes on the set while he was there)?
Who knows! I know it's sad, but I just can't wait to see the next whopper this guy will yank out of his ass.

Huh? Sorry to drag the thread off topic, but could you provide a source for that? Only thing I remember was some artical in a college paper that basically boiled down to 'the judge didn't throw it out out of hand'.Spyder wrote:

Uh... and to say something on topic. Yeah supershadow's an obvious phoney. I mean, come on his 'girlfriends' page alone should be proof of that. Best just to ignore these lamers and hope that one day they really screw up and do something to incite legal hell from Lucasfilm or the like.

I'm still of the opinion that SS.com is a parody site, so it's funny that so many people get so upset about it. Even if it isn't, it really isn't worth getting your panties all in a wad over.
As for online forums, the biggest as said before are theforce.net and sw.com. If you're looking for quality, theforce.net literature forum is probably the very best one out there-- the rest of TF.N sucks for the most part though. This one is very good too, although traffic is generally a little slow. I visit only those two regularly.

It would be nice if one could somehow develop a technology whereby people who lie on the Internet receive an electric shock. Supershadow would, of course, be killed swiftly. Many others would follow.
