Careful about declaring your victory dance immediately.. there are many spells that can reflect gaze attacks and tune out sonic attacks. I'll leave this debate to Alyrium, though, as I can't find my PHB to check to see if the Sphere is one of htem.

(What, you didn't know Sirens and Medusae are common in AD&D?)

Prismatic sphere blocks ALL attack forms. Mental attacks, sound based attacks. and he can still cast offensive spells from inside the sphere.

Dragon: yobidia mitual balkat *a shimmering radient nimus of energy surrounds the dragon*, goodbye mewtwo Ortano fondigyamar *Mewtwo is turned to stone*Doral dune vokeen*mewtwo is turned to mud, dragon waits for mud to dry and then sweeps it out of his liar with a magically conjured broom*

Confusion -- Basic Psychic Attack. May confuse opponent(cause them to hurt themselves)
Disable -- Disables an ability used by the target
Barrier -- Energy shield
Swift -- Basic energy attack, highly accurate.
Psych Up -- MewTwo copies the last powerup used by the opponent(This includes forcefields)
Future Sight -- Calls a Psychic attack that hits a few seconds later, without warning.
Mist -- Prevents opponent from altering the user's abilities
Psychic -- Massive Psychic attack.
Amnesia -- Increases defenses
Recover -- Heals damage instantly.
Safeguard -- Prevents user from being poisoned parylized, etc...

And those are his stats in the game. In the anime, MewTwo:

Destroyed the lab(and scientists) that created him. Starting with some random telekinetic devestation(he looks at it mean, and it explodes), and ending with a massive detonation that left nothing more than burning rubble.

Left Team Rocket in a similarly explosive manner, while wearing restraints to keep his power in check.

Returned to New Island, and builds his own lab, improved from the original. Kidnaps a Nurse Joy to help him(and implanting false memories into her), and aquires/clones a Fearow, Dragonite, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Perfects the cloning process, and evolves The last three to their fully evolved forms.

Creates a hurricane of world-effecting magnitude, and invites several trainers to New Island. This seems to attract the attention of a Mew, who decides to see what's up.

After defeating the trainers in three matches(their Pokemon against his clones), he conjures/summons black seeker balls to capture the Pokemon of the trainers, sending them back to the lab to be cloned. Ash ends up breaking the machine from the inside trying to save Pikachu, and the Pokemon and their clones break out.

MewTwo Battles with his progenitor, Mew, but they seem to be evenly matched. MewTwo seals the special abilities of all the Pokemon and clones, and a massive battle erupts.

During this battle, and before, MewTwo has used a forcefield to block Charizard's flames, created a water spout to extinguish them, reflected a Gyarados' Hyper Beam right back at it, Mind-wiped Nurse Joy of her time with him, Fired black energy balls with the destructive power of a tank shell, taken a hit from a similar attack from Mew, and came out unharmed, Created an offensive Energy Field, and fired it off as an attack(Ash got caught in this attack from him and Mew, and it turned him to stone).

In the end, MewTwo leaves, taking the clones with him, as a final act, he completely removes the Lab and fortress(When Team Rocket wakes up there, its only an empty meadow), wipes the memories of that night from everyone's minds, and takes them back to the day before their involvment with him, including Nurse Joy.

In MewTwo Returns, MewTwo has a little less screen time, but still manages to move an entire lake under a mountain, and wipe the memories of the incedent from the Team Rocket forces(And these are the competent ones. They're even embarassed by J&J) sent after him, including their leader, yet still leave them with the sense that they've been "thouroughly beaten." He even makes sure that they're far away when they wake up.

Ummm I hate to bring it up but do you have any idea what the Sphere of Annihilation is?

MewTwo is badass in the Pokemon world, but the SoA he is not.

Not my debate, Colin. I, myself, don't see what's so badass about MewTwo, stacked against AD&D. Against Alyrium's ridiculously stacked world, it's like sending a lone Red Shirt against a Final Fantasy hero, lv 99, with Character Shield.

Just by it's name, I can hazard a guess.

But keep in mind we're dealing with a being for whom vary few attacks are going to hit him unless he wants it to.

Heck, if we go by Khazan Bloodthirst, this fight's not gonna be more than a few seconds. Pissed-Off MewTwo=Plot Device.

A Sphere Of Annihilation is the ultimate in destruction. Anything that touches it.. ANYTHING... ceases to exist.

That's about what I figured... actually, I was thinking it would be a little more explosive in effect.

But that brings to point the problem of Hitting[/i] MewTwo.

As one you put it:

Dragon: Prismatic Sphere.

MewTwo: Psych Up.

Guess what happens?

And what's with thinking the Prismatic Sphere is anything particularly needed.

I say Time Stop then start destroying the chibber because he cannot move and is locked while the Dragon is free to move about and do what he bloody well pleases...for around oh 30-40 seconds.

Standoff, as MewTwo doesn't have the magic to breach the sphere. Then again, there's just the need for area-affect spells.

Because stopping time agaisnt one who can also manilpulate it, and additionally will likely not give you the chance to try it in the first place, is rarely something that works.

Methinks the dragon wins this one. Controlling a Sphere of Annihilation is a contest of wills, and while I do know that Mewtwo has amazing willpower, he's simply outmatched versus a 1,200 year-old dragon with said years of accrued wisdom under its scaly belt.

You do realize that MewTwo's will far exceeds his physical and psychic limits, right? (MewTwo Returns)

And these matter how? Power word kill, no touch attack=no attack roll=no dodging for the pokemon=dead mewtwo. Wail of a banshee, sure there is a saving throw but not one thayt mewtwo can make. With certain spells it doesnt really matter how good the pokemon is at dodging things he is still dead. Then the dragon char-broils and eats him.

Dragon: Needs salt.

And because a dragon can take class levels.........

Hell in D&D world psychic attack aren't exactly the most reliabel and still one of you most powerful is up against a beign who has lived for hundreds of years, has enourmous defense, and is capable of making most human mages at their most powerful look like pansies.

Sorry Pokemon are not that strong in comparison...especially considering they can be quite easily caged(given all you truly need acouple rare Master Balls and such not)
